Recall?

Just checked my email and got one from the dealer where I bought the car stating there is a recall for my '09 C63. Unfortunately, it doesn't specify what it's for. I need to call the dealer on Monday and find out. In the meantime, anybody else get one of these messages or knows what the recall is for?

I just had my 09 at the dealer for some work. On the work order I saw that they changed something in/on the trunk. Maybe that is it. Please keep us posted.

I just dropped my C300 off for service A. They did something with a recall on the trunk... I didn't really question what it was but I assume it is the same deal on the C63

I had this "recall" performed, it's a joke. All they are doing is letting out the trunk stoppers 1/2 turn because the trunk may close too tightly and scratch the bumper.

It takes 15 seconds and you can do this yourself at home.

My trunk did leave a mark on the lower bumper, to late now.

If you already scratched your bumper and if the recall is in fact that reason then MB should correct the trunk height and fix the bumper for you.
Be safe

Yea, I'm sure they would fix it, but I can probably do a better job with touch up paint versus my dealership sanding and painting. I like to keep as much factory paint as possible.

Edit: Same thing happened to my hood but little marks. Maybe I'm to strong and slamming it.

Confirmed...just the silly trunk thing. Dealer wanted me to drive all the way out there for this and schedule a 1hr appointment. Good thing I read here what they're gonna do. Gonna check my bumper and if it's ok, i'm just gonna adjust it myself and have them take the official look next time i'm in for service. Quite disappointed...was hoping it was for the Purge Valve that keeps tripping my CEL everytime i drive under 1/4 tank. Can anybody confirm MB has already put out a software update or new purge valve to fix this. My SA has laid eyes on ONE AMG vehicle (mine) in 5 years working for MB so I'm not too convinced when he says MB won't replace it or update the software unless it fails their test, which it never does. They just reset the light and call it good. 4 times already...I already "expressed my concern" about invoking the Lemon Law if they don't get it fixed once and for all...maybe that will wake them up.

I also got my trunk fixed under a "recall". All they did was unscrew the rubber stops under the trunk.

That's funny, I had that same purge valve issue on my car when I got it. They replaced it under warranty at the dealer and that was the end of the CELs. Took an afternoon and they gave me a c300 loaner. What a completely different car. So glad the C63 was my first Mercedes. It's more of a true AMG than a regular Mercedes with zoom, all things considered.
