2009 GTR

Couldnt race him due to traffic and im sure he would have destroyed me anyhow. I wish I could have run him anyway...

I just wanted to say this car was CRAZY. The sound was amazing and we did some short runs through 3rd gear and he launch like he was in 1st.

Stupid C63 trying to paddle down into the gear I wanted felt so clumsy. Meanwhile he was like.. down down BAM! gone. I want THAT auto!!

White GTR on the Wantagh on LI. Sound off if you lurk on this thread. It sounded like you were modded.

If he had a good exhaust note, he must have at least modded the mid pipes cause the stock mufflers are not that restrictive and in stock format the car is relatively quiet. Most of the sound gains and some of the hp gains come from the midpipe.

I know several owners that just changed their mid pipe and did the Cobb AP and trapped 125-127 !!!! The car really opens up with some simple mods. I cant believe that it only boosts 12 psi stock.

You are so right about the tranny too- it shifts like no other car Ive owned, well until I got the same tranny in the M3 Hopefully the owner chimes in.

The GT-R, stock or otherwise, deserves huge respect.

Isn't it roomier (front passenger wise)? It is a big car.

To me its almost too big, huge blind spots in the rear quarter panels; the car feels like a big shell. So in a way it makes it all that more impressive in the handling department.

The rear seats are boderline useless unless you move your front seats up. I guess I could fit 4 in there but have never tried nor intend to.

I saw a white GT-R on the LIE the other day, but I doubt it was the same guy. It was a young kid (approx 18) driving it and going insanely SLOW. I mean not a sole on the road and he was going 50 in the middle lane. He was alone too.

the windows were tinted x2. Mine and his.. but he looked like a kid. Id say about 28. Yappin on his cell phone... No blue tooth in the GTR?

Either way, it had a stick on the right side... Not sure what it was... looked like a black C I think... to much traffic to stare... but really nice car man...

If I didnt need a 4 door I would trade out tomorrow for it.

Ran with an all stock black one at the track last Friday. I was moved to group 3 that day and allowed to run with the instructors. One of them has a 2009 GTR. It was a lesson in humility. Up to that day I had been running in group 1 and then group 2. Lots of fast cars but I was faster as none of the drivers could explore anywhere near their car's potential. Now I was in a group that knew how to drive. I was behind him as the yellow flag dropped and we entered a tight right hander before the long straight. As I was fighting over steer to keep up, without any drama he fed the throttle and the awd system just powered him out of the corner. I have K2 and his was stock. So it was not a total kill on the straight. Just a slow increase in distance. As the laps went on, the distance became bigger and bigger. He carried so much speed through the corners. I have to blame some of it on my lousy tires, but what a great car for the track. No drama. Just fast. Agree, the stock exhaust is really quiet on that car. He was complaining about the sound later and was looking for exhaust system. Some of the full exhausts for that car are very expensive.

Front seat room is definitely not bigger than the C63. Felt smaller than a C63 when I was comparing both.

The GTR really is stupid fast with even an inept driver (that would be me). I just have a couple of simple mods and my car has already gone 11.1 (on street tires with mash-n-go) at somewhere between 126-131mph. Go with a more extensive package like Vic and only supercars will keep up. The stock GTR exhaust is quite subdued but change out the mid-pipe and/or the entire exhaust system and she will scream.

Only engine problems I found were on a modded car.

There is definitely BT in the car... I never understood why drivers would not use this safety device. I see it all the time happening in Cali on current cars that I know have BT; a car going at a snails pace in the fast lane and as one has to pull on the right to pass, the idiot is on the phone with receiver in hand.

Rant off.

As Z99 posted, its so true about how this car holds speeds into, thru, and out of the turns. It doesnt need to be the fastest in straight line on a track.
