OS Giken LSD Measuments for C63

I asked mechanic about possibility to install OS Giken LSD. They called a manufacturer and called me back saying that they need to do some measurements inside my current differential for right sizing. And they need to do it after some dismounting work. So I need to bring my car twice, for measurements and installation.
Is anybody had an issue with OS Giken installation? What the size they are looking for?
I want to install this kind of LSD, because in slippery conditions it might provide a better traction vs Quaffe

The OS Giken differential was co-developed with RENNtech.... you should contact them, as they took the lead on this one. I believe they sell them directly and may even have them in stock

not sure what measurement that is, sounds too much work, but for quaife lsd, just straightforward install, it fits nicely

Quaife is gear based and the OS Giken is Clutch based.

I've had a quaife lsd in for nearly 20,000 miles and about 20 runs down the 1/4 mile, no issues whatsoever, works great, easy to install.

Call RENNtech and ask if they have a big dealer in the area that may have them in stock.

The OS Giken LSD can lock at 100% and is supposively much better than quaife (coming from people who have owned both).

I have contacted Renntech Monday and still no reply. Not impressed...

All Gleason torsen designs, aka Quaffi use gears for the torque transfer and all have a finite ratio of torque that they can transfer to the wheel with grip. AKA most true road racers do not use them because of this.

Clutch type aka Giken can handle a much higher torque transfer, but they do wear.

So alas no free lunch either way so just pick your poison.

Personally for a MB, I would go with the Quaiffi do to it never having to be rebuilt or replaced. After all, I don't think anyone here is going to try and compete in a real road racing class in their MB.

My all time favorite was a custom Auborn

However after many futile phone calls with them, as they use to sponsor me back in my hay day, they are not interested in MB's do to the very low demand.

Finally I had RennTech LSD installed. It took few weeks to send my rear differential to California for installation at RennTech facility.
It works very well. Before ESP light was indicating, that car lost traction and stopped acceleration. And now it accelerates with or without this light with sensation, that the tail been loose sometimes.
This video I shoot with this LSD installed.

If a car is equipped with Quaife LSD, will it behave the same way?

I had an Auburn years back as an 800 dollar option. Didn't really know the difference at the time, but it felt good planting power out of turns. I haven't noticed a real need on the C63 for street DD purposes.

My installer mentionned the Quaife is more a drifting LSD, while the OS Giken more of a track racing LSD because how the technology for each.

Your tail will definitely be loser, but you will have excellent control while its loose and great acceleration still, that's an LSD!
