It is a challenge but again, when you consider the same tuner holds both tune only and tune and header records, and not by a insignificant amount, the answer becomes even more clear.
Love to see the comparo happen, just don't believe it will. Other tuners seem to shy away from direct testing especially race testing vs this combo.

I'd disagree with this excerpt of your post - which also appears to be the foundation of your further comments.
Fairly experienced and dedicated "racers" on this forum use currently, or have used previously, headers from MKB, Kleemann, RENNtech, MHP, and MBH... maybe some others I'm forgetting as well. So the excerpt above is incorrect, IMHO.

We have seen a Kleemann tuned car run in FL with MHP headers and DRs with ETs and Traps on par with what Petro ran with catless LTs&Mids, Eurocharged ECU, DRs, and additionally a proven airbox in air that was better by 2000' DA. We have also seen mthis's car run 11.19@125.5 in worse air without airboxes vs Petro.
While it's not the single variable test you want, it's as close as we have and still gives us quality info.
Personally I would love to see someone that makes a Tri-Y comp you a set of headers if even just to test with vs your 4 into 1s. Let's make it happen.

I would be more then happy to test it out I already own one of the setups.. If mbh would like to step up and send out a test unit I would donate my time and effort to test these 2 products at the track

Like conditions (even corrected results) from the same track across many runs within a narrow data range should provide enough directional data.

I don't no how much of that correction stuff I believe in.. Just seems like to many variables that sometimes can't be corrected

[QUOTE=superlubricity;4449479]I've spent some time cleaning up this thread:
1. Pricing discussion and related posts have been removed.
2. Personal/irrelevant content has been removed.

Super, I'm echoing the sentiments on a great thread. Kudos!
I'm learning quite a bit. As I'm catching up, why was the pricing discussion removed? There are many challenges thrown out to the technical build and design (cheater welds, types of stainless, wall thickness, etc.) that has direct implications to price. In fact, I would like to think that savvy vendors will evaluate the market and consider their target price point during design and manufacture. If Vendor A offers a $2k header that has cheater welds and lesser wall thickness, that may be okay when compared to Vendor B who has perfect welds, but a $10k price.
Price is a key component and one of the most contentious issues. The folks most interested in this thread, and perhaps the ones with the most to gain, are us guys who haven't bought our headers yet.
I'm afraid that removing the cost component simply diminishes the thread to what is the best design and build regardless of cost...which is an interesting topic, but becomes purely theoretical which won't do us as much good.
Did I miss any good stuff on the cost piece that was removed??
Thanks again for a great thread.

And after a few pages you'll see why I didn't want any of that in this thread. Kinda sad that we can't just have a civil conversation.
Anyhow, pricing on all of these systems can be found by reaching out to the manufacturers of the products or the vendors that sell them.

All you missed out on was this -> https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...header+pricing

Sad indeed. Thanks for the reply. I suppose I'll have to evaluate all of the great stuff on the thread, then read other threads for published pricing info, then reach out to each vendor for current pricing, then put it all together and evaluate. At that point I'll be up to date on the theoretics and know who is insulting who. Most importantly, I'll probably be just ignorant enough to make a bad decision.

SL: thanks for starting this thread and sharing the info and pics to all.
All comments posted here from other members are well valued which includes the debate we have.
Now the question is, Full Length LTH or Full Length Try-Y's??? Its personal preference in the end..

When you say "LTH" - you mean 4-1? LTH can apply to 4-1 or Tri-Y. MHP is an example of a full length 4-1 long tube header; evosport is an example of a full length Tri Y long tube header.
