I find it really hard to believe that the benz star can not be removed. No one has tried taking it off? Isnt it just super glued?

I thought that, I would post two pictures of the Affalterbach Crest, mounted on my C63 shifter and COMAND control knob.

I tried getting the blasted star off, I tried using a dentist pick. But still couldn't pry it loose, so I gave up.

They all look great.
I should get a commission off Jerry for all the emblems I have sold for him.

Jerry is good people, I bought a set of wheels from him years ago, and well as other stuff. And he always gives me a good deal on pricing.

I have bought dentist tools years ago at a flea market, I have used them to clean my guns over the years, digging carbon bits out of cracks and such. But I have tried getting a hook on hte edges of the Star, to try and pry it loose. But it didn't work. They must use super glue to hold it in place.

Has anyone wrapped or painted the trim surrounding the gear shifter?

Talking Affalterbach Crest

I also added this little touch, to the back of my seats. Sorry for the iPhone photos.

I've always hated this piece.
This and those pesky door pins have got to be leftovers from the NEON bin!

It's been wrapped with 3m CF di-noc I believe. Looks like an easy paint job too - satin or gloss black.

I'll go with gloss black probably.

Here are a few more pictures that, I took a few minutes ago with my iPhone.

You can see that my crest sits flush on the shift knob.

These decals are made from thin aluminum, then as paper and are fragile.

my crest mounted on the COMAND knob.

Another pic, so that you can see how the decal sits flush.

My decal again from a top view

A shot from the top

That's a lot of AMG emblems and crests

I played around with some matte black vinyl I had in the garage. I wrapped the grey shifter surrounding and it looks much better IMO.
I have to order some gloss black vinyl so it will match the transmission setup button.

Yullie36,
as I was taking off my "iDrive" controller cover, I took off the center of the controller as well. Maybe you could put the Affalterbach emblem inside so it looks more flush

How did you get it to sit flush with the knob?

I used one tiny drop of superglue on the shifter.

That is what I used as well, super glue. And it sat flush on top, as seen in the photos.
