C63 Brake pads

Guy I dont drive my car much (weekend driver) so I really hate all this brake dust that the track pgk makes. I have a 2pc rotor and some "better" pads that MB uses. Can anyone recomend some good ceramic pads for my car. I called a few places and did a web search but no application numbers are out yet for this car. These brake look like brembos so
Thanks

Brake dust can't be eliminated, but can be mitigated. I have these same exact brakes on my E63, so I feel your pain. There aren't but a few brake pad manufacturers, that even make brakes for an AMG. But try EBC, Akebono. Give Evosport a call and see what they have. I've used Mintex and Pagid on my Bimmers make in the day for this same exact reason, although they weren't high performance brakes either.

More brake dust = Better braking. This always holds true and on a nose heavy sedan with this much HP I don't know why anyone would even consider downgrading their brakes to have less dust. Just wash your wheels more often.

If you put enough poboys wheel wax on when they're shiny clean, removing the brake dust is a snap.

There is brake pad for C63 from company called Dixcel. They are well knowed in Japan. I used to use it with my e46 M3 CSL and it really stops well and less brake dust for sure. After the warranty I will get this for sure.

Thanks Guys but I use this car on the weekends (Fri & Sat) and I really dont track it so thats why I just want to swap out the pads for low dust. I rather loose a bit on brakes and gain a cleaner looking wheel.

The EBC pad link has 2 different pads for the front and rears (Both red stuff) so I really dont know what to buy.

Does anyone know why there are 2 part numbers for the same car

(2 part numbers for fronts)
(2 part numbers for rears)

WTF? lol

thanks

Yea I was gonna suggest Dixcels...
I haven't needed to change them on the c63 yet, but I've used it multiple times on the Evo and they're not that dusty compared other stuff I've used..

So when I need them them replaced, I'm gonna give them a try!

Mechanical brake power reduction on 451HP vehicle in trade for aesthetics and laziness.

^^^yep, this helps a lot--any higher temp sealant (eg Zaino, Menzerna, etc) will work

Reduced dust=reduced stopping? Makes sense, somethings gotta give, if not the pads, I would guess the rotors may wear quicker with a tougher pad? That will get pricey!

I'm also looking to replace my pads but for track purposes:

Here is what I come down to:

carbotech Xp12/xp16 or ebc yellow stuff

Did Evosport mention their rotors are bad with all EBC pads or just the red stuff?

I called carbotech a few months back, they don't have any backing plate for the pads, they said minmum order from the plate factory is 1000 pcs, so they deceide not to have it at all

I own a E63 that has the two piece rotors, so I hear you on the brake dust. I heard that some AMG owners use the the shift paddles for engine braking, so that they don't have the use the brakes all the time. It does cut back on the dust. I carry a bottle of window cleaner the spray down the wheels on those long spirited drives. My C63 has one piece rotors, and my front wheels stay clean, but on my E63 forget it. I have my girlfriend take it to Mercedes for the free car wash once or twice a week. Many people forget that Mercedes will wash your car for free, and that you also have road side assistance.

I did not realize that MB would wash the car for free.. I knew about the roadside assistance though.

At the same time, as a small detailing hobbyist , most of the dealer car washes are swirly factories...

Yes....see most people that have Mercedes don't know this fact. It doesn't matter what year, just as long as it a Mercedes. Also it doesn't matter whether the car was purchased from that dealership or not. I've gone to NJ and had my car washed at the Cherry Hill Dealership for free. Now you can stop paying for car washes, when Mercedes will do it for you for free. You can't ask for perfection here, it's just a coutesy wash after all.

None fast enough!
Yes, all EBC is to be avoided from our experience with our rotors.

We have a "track" set-up now that I emailed you about.

It is a great set-up but is TRACK only for those interested.

Front: Hawk DTC 60 Front Brake Pad C63 AMG
Rear: Raybestos ST 43 Rear Brake Pad C63 AMG

thanks
Brad
