Unhappy O2 sensor gave out after 7,500 miles!!

I noticed last night that I had a CEL come on outta nowhere! I called up my tech so we could go over the problem. Seems like my right side O2 sensor (right before the primary cat) gave out according to the diagnostics computer.
My tech had asked me what type of fuel I had been using, I told him 91 all the time. But occasionally I filled up 5 gallons of MS109 race gas. He said there was my problem right there. He claimed these O2 sensors are VERY sensitive. Finally went to Mercedes parts and picked up a O2 sensor, Installed it, cleared the codes, Problem solved.

The part number for the 02 sensor is 003-542-70-18. I have to ask my tech what the codes were.

If I had known race gas would mess up the O2 sensors I would have never put it. lol
Ya, it was around $250, Its pricey but I needed to change it either way.

The funny thing is that $250 is wholesale price, retail price is $360!!! Maybe its the fact that I got these at Merceds of Beverly Hills so they jack up the price, These people have lost their f***ing minds!!
If another O2 sensor goes out (I hope not) I'm getting BOSCH for sure.

You might as well just get a tune to delete the O2 and pick up some power instead

I think the only way to override the O2's is to get a O2 simulator to fool the computer that you have the sensors put on.

Isn't the 02 sensors under warranty?

+1. Emission related parts should carry an 8 year warranty. But if you have headers and other performance parts on the car, good luck collecting on that warranty.

care to share how you think deleting the primary 02 sensors will increase power or even cause the car to run properly?

I think _AMG_ is tune only with a x-pipe.

Forget about does bs simulators I have something else to insall if mine go crazy again,
This thing that I'm talking about will delete you 02's and relocate then. This is the best solution and 02's will never go bad and u can pass inspection.

Ya, its better with a tune but a tune alone is not gonna prevent your O2 sensors from going out because of high octane race fuel.

02 sensor should be under warranty even with a tune and X pipe. Your tune has maps for increased octane and will advance timing thus netting you additional hp. But the octane maps only go so far and running anything over 94 octane is a waste. Thats why I mix 100 and 91.
