19's et35 and et50 245's and 275's with H&R springs. They fit.

So did another final test fit today to see if any fender work was going to be needed. I am running the following:
19x8.5 et35 245/35's
19x10 et50 275/30's
With H&R springs. Tires are Hankook Ventus V12's supposed to have rounded sidewalls, figured this would help with fitments.

No rubbing but my snows had to go back on, more on that later. The front is perfect, wheel offset and tire size is dead on with the springs:

The rear is just about perfect, it's a bit aggressive but doesn't rub. top down look:

compressed the suspension a good amount by jacking the passenger side up and still the tire did not contact the fender:

I am still going to roll the rear fenders for the just in case scenario.

And this is why I had to put snows back on, the damn snow banks are still higher than the car:

Looks good Jeff.
I was told it is not advisable to roll the rear guards on a C63 as they are glued together and can easily split. You can feel where the 2 pieces of metal are glued if you run your finger under rear guard lip. Maybe try and shave a little off where the rear bar meets the body.

thanks for the heads up Paul. I'm ok with shaving them might even be a little easier. Knowing that I will probably drive it a while and see if it's really needed that is if this snow ever melts.

Close fit, but it looks like they will rub once you have passengers in the rear while hitting a dip.

My wheels have the same specs, and I can hear a little rubbing noise when I drive fast while hitting a dip (w/ passengers)... and I'm not even dropped... maybe I need different tires.

It's close but I still think it will be ok. We pretty much fully compressed the suspension and I could still get my finger tip between the inner fender lip and tire sidewall. Tire selection is probably the most important part of this. I did a good amount of looking and measuring to find a tire that had a rounded sidewall and ran "narrow" for the size. Something like a Goodyear GSD3 would never fit, too square and too wide. I still plan on shaving the fenders to be on the safe side.

Also if you have legs you can't sit behind me in the car. I moved my drivers seat back ~4 inches to accommodate my 6'8" frame, the seat is literally an inch from touching the back seat. My car is essentially a 2 seater (which is more than fine with me ).

Would you happen to have some side shots of the car? And did you get an allignment? if so do you still have some negative camber?
Sorry for all the questions im just really curious.
Thanks

those are all the pics I have was still really cold out. I feel like the Boston area has become the frozen tundra. No allignment yet will drive it a while then take in.

edit: my snows are back ont he car now. Waiting another couple of weeks before they go on for good.

Lol I can imagine, that is ALOT of snow in the last pic.

Sounds good, please lemme know how the alignment turns out and if you went with a little negative camber.

edit: could have probably left them on for a few days. 50's today and tomorrow but 2-4 inches of snow on sunday/monday.

After seeing your thread, you really make me want to drop my car too. My set-up is very much the same as yours, and I'm glad you dont rub.

Too bad you're not on your summer set-up though 'cuz I'm very curious to know if they clear perfectly during normal driving?

Now my question is... if rolling the rear fenders is not recommended... how much can we shave in the back, not much to shave from what I can see???

Yeah I wish I was on the summer set up too. It's still snowing here pretty sure the world is ending or something. I've had the rears on a few times to test highway driving with no passengers it was fine. Calling for more snow tomorrow but hopefully I can go to summers fully in the next week or 2.

And yeah sincity I pretty much copied your car after seeing pictures.

My wheels are originally from Z99. I think he also has an IS? The color combo and wheels look good together. Do you think the V12s in 285 will fit without rubbing? I have the V12s in 275 and when I have the suspension compressed, it seem like it would. When the weather improves, could you please post some side profile pics? I have been contemplating if I should drop it or not. Tks.

^^ ditto! I'm still contemplating about my drop too. I searched & ppl said it's not good to roll the rear cuz the fenders will get detached from the body panel, can someone confirm this?

As far as shaving, which I prefer to do at the worst case of rubbing... how much can be shaved?

I will get pics asap but the Boston area is now part of the arctic cycle so it's going to be a few weeks. As for a 285 I'd say no way 275's are really pushing it. If you do end up shaving the fenders make sure you prep and paint the insides when done there will be exposed metal and it will be prone to rusting.

Jeff, has the snow melted yet in your area? I'm anxious for your confirmation on the rubbing & would love to see side profile pics since on the post with the stockies, the H&R seems to be lower in the back?

Roswell,

There was this thread by Hiro on some coilovers from Japan selling on eBay in the U.S. I think the coilovers are assembled so you don't need a compressor for the front springs and just swap units. I think......

Sincity, I almost bought them... but I'm not sure about the quality of the Yellow Speed Racing coilovers?? I would prefer coilovers any day so I could adjust the height if I rub in the back... I actually like how my rear sits right now, I just want to lower the front a bit more.

hopefully next week, I'm just going to put them on. Still a good 2-3 feet of snow pack on the ground I'm pretty sure there will be snow on the ground into May here. I did order 5mm spacers for the back after hearing I wouldn't be able to roll my rear fenders, so they'd be et55. We'll see how it goes.

I think you got this "spacers" wrong... by adding a 5mm spacers in the back, you are making your wheels 45mm not 55mm. So the wheels will stick out more & make your rubbing worst. Someone can confirm my assumption.. maybe i'm wrong?
