Thinking to get an E90 M3 M DCT for my daily driver. I prefer the look of E92 better but I need a practical 4 door car. But who knows?!

I love ///AMG C63:
Exhaust note!!! one of the best sounding stock exhaust ever!
Straight line performance and torque is pretty darn good!
Seats fits me like a glove but annoying when I reach my hand for stuff at rear
4 door = practical

I dislike ///AMG C63:
auto box is slow. I love dual clutch cars. MCT is coming out this summer.
handling is not very " direct " steering feedback is not very good to me.
major facelift is coming out this summer. MCT, interior, head/rear lights. :mad0260: I just got this car. :mad0260:

Coming out from P car family, I really care about handling. I had 996 C2, Cayman S, 997 C2, now a 997TT. I always loved E36,46,92 M3's. I like the exterior/interior style much better than any AMG car.

Couple of questions

1. Will I regret from switching from AMG to ///M?
2. Will I feel lack of torque compare with AMG?
3. Will I like the M DCT? I love PDK, S-Tronic, DSG, how about M DCT?
4. Will I feel it is worth for me to get M3 DCT as I will get huge hit on depreciation.
5. How fast really is M DCT? compare with Ferrari's 60ms, PDK's?
6. There won't be a special version of the M3 will we? Since M3 is out in 07. CSL cost a fortune.
7. Lastly, We won't be able to see the new M3 until 2013 I assume?

Get what makes you happy. Obviously we could have gotten a M if we wanted, but we believe we've made the right choice.

Geez Louise!!! Why do people always ask other people, who all have different taste/ needs, etc. what car to buy??? If there was one right car ----then there would be only one car made!!! Buy what YOU like.
If you think your getting a bunch of crap for your questions. Think about where you are asking them. The M forum may be a better place.

He actually did ask this question on M3post and got a lot of very polite and helpful responses.

I answered his question over there since my C63 is coming off lease this summer and I have been really torn over getting another C63 or getting a M3.

A few weeks ago I went back read some of these M3 or C63 discussions again.

I'm looking at a C63 because I want an automatic and the DCT on the M3 is notorious for stalling and other malfunctions.

I have owned both. M dct has no problems with stalling. Its a solid tranny and can handle a beating. I actually like the steering in the benz more...i find it diff than any other benz ive driven where I hate the sloppy steering. I prefer it over the m3 steering which I find more electronic and fake, I think the benz has more feedback. But go back to a p car if u want a sports car/ track car, as I have a gt3 and there is nothung like it

I guess this kind of question has been floating around on the MBworld. Hey I love both cars and I own a 11 C63. I like C63 and I also like M3. Noting wrong with that eh? Why always other members ask C63 vs M3??? Come on people! don't be so narrow minded. These two are very good sports sedan! Competition is always good thing! LOL, I guess it's best to have both.

Your answers are very inaccurate. The ISF has a torque converter auto that is nowhere near as responsive in manual mode as the M's DCT. Also, the 2012 C63 trans will be more responsive than the 7G but magazine tests have shown the new one still feels too like an auto in manual mode as it's not responsive enough. Also, your implication the M3 loses its value faster than a C63 is tripe, neither are good so your point is moot.

There also won't be a new M3 in 18 months time. Only thing you got right was the one word torque answer. Where do you come up with this garbage?

You will certainly regret and miss that rumbling soung of an AMG exhaust, thats what I can tell you for sure. BMW M3 is nice but that's about it.
