Smile 2012 C63 Allocation for Dealers

Hi All!

I got a call from my dealer in Chicago stating that they have a ful list of options and colors and delivery dates for 2012 C63's.

I am going to swing by and try to get a printout of everything - from the sounds of it, it has alll the bells and whistles now, including a TON of designo options for the interior and exterior, as well as parktronic, a driver assist lighting package ? another few options I cant recall the exact namse but it was so that car can stay in its lane amonst others the color options were very vast. Ah yes, and the AMG Dev package as well ..... Ill post a pdf as soon as I have my hands on it.

Cant wait!

I bought my 2010 last year in July, so if I get a decent price for my car, I will definitly trade up.

Looks like that did not make the cut for the US models. Order banks are open for 2012 C-Classes and any cars ordered now should be here in the late summer.

I posted this in the other thread but didn't get a reply:

It's also not entirely clear to me what the difference is between the following wheels:

795 18" AMG Twin 5-Spoke Alloy Wheels vs
790 AMG 5-Spoke 18" Single-Tone Wheel

Which is the wheel I'm used to seeing on the 2009/2010/2011 C63's?

Thanks YYZ-E55!

I tried searching all over for this and didn't find it.

I think I like the 795 wheel better...

Sorry guys but I really don’t understand all the hype on the new model. Based on what I see on the E class and the pictures of the new c63, I hate the steering wheel as it looks like every other car now including my Honda civic. The front of the car is just too plane and no longer aggressive, the LED lights look like something from pep boys specials, and the dash to me look horrendous with its sunk in GPS screen and the two hump on the dash making look too long and not small and racy. Now as the tyranny goes sure it shifts faster however it’s also losing 10-15 rear wheel hp per a tuner that I can’t say his name here due to all the moving parts. sometimes manufactures take something very special and just f**k it up like this example and what Porsche did when they came with the 996 what an ugly car. It always amazes me how people will pay so much for marketing . Sorry not here to burst anyone’s bubble this is my personal thoughts on the new model. In a way I think those who have the older model I think will have the best looking and performance c63 ever made. i mean come on heated steering wheel WTF. Its taking away from what the car should be an animal. two tone seats? taking all the class away and making look like a 16 year Honda with a shopping handel wing on the back. Lets just add a coffee can on it also for an exhaust tip.

Wow, pretty emotional response 4ramin.
I'm not even going to touch it.
Enjoy your civic daily driver.

I love cars a bit more then most, and yes I get a little upset when people ask for cup holders and items like that when a car was to be a beast and not a Cadillac that's all.

If you're well-versed in AMG history (as your sig pic would suggest), of course you're aware that AMG had some pretty funky two-tone interiors in the w202 C-AMGs.

And, you can't say the tuner's name here because of all of the moving parts in the tyranny?

The new trans moving mass if much higher than the old trans, as the result your seeing a 10 to 15 rear wheel HP loss. You also are not able to burnouts that makes it hard to heat up tires. M3's are having the same issue. keep in mind this is not the same trans as the SLS. If you have a C63 I would reconsider.

The C63 doesn't come standard with xenon adaptive headlights?

shhhh...keep your voice down, the Cadillac guys may hear you

Some things about the new model are good, but I agree that the "current" model appears to look more aggressive and I can't say for sure I'd take the 2012 over my 2011 just yet.
We need to see some real world pics of the car to get a true sense of the styling IMO--either way, any C63 is a good C63

How can anyone comment on possible HP loss on a car that has never been dyno'd or driven before?

I had an opportunity to buy a 2011 C63 but opted to wait for the 2012 model when I heard about the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT-7.

Maybe I will wish I bought the 2011

We will know in 6 months!

I hear you on the continual push toward more "stuff" in a car... but any HP loss from the new trans would be erased with a factory tweak on the ECU. They have plenty of room in the ECU as we know, and if MB-AMG continues to claim 451HP, they will deliver it, I'm sure.

But the 451/481HP MB claims is at the crank, so your point makes no sense. If MB felt they needed to increase power to accommodate for more weight/drivetrain loss they would have changed the stated #s.

If the new components in MCT cause a higher percentage drivetrain loss (as stated by a completely *unsubstantiated* source, which we are only giving credence by referencing ) then why wouldn't MB compensate through the ECU?

There is little chance they will put out a new car, with a more advanced transmission, that will be slower, even if fractionally........

If the percentage of power lost due to more components and weight equals a higher number that number will always be a higher percentage and the ecu tune will have nothing to do with that. As to why MB would make such a change? I don’t know, just know new is not always better, it’s different but not always better. The new Trans seem to be much smoother and does shift faster. However, it also seems to lack a little TQ due to its new torque control when coming out of turns vs the old e63. I’ve had the pleasure of beating the crap out of the e63 and that’s what I personally noticed. I then talked to Andy whom I have his ECU tune from and he has confirmed the power loss of 10 to 15 rear wheel HP on the new Trans. I think time will tell soon, as more people get the new cars. For me I’m keeping mine and in no way will I consider the new model. To assume new is always better , well that’s just being ignorant. Im not here to argue with anyone or try to teach anyone anything, just talking about my personal experience. Now keep in mind the c-class is a lighter car however the trans will be the same and the loss will be the same to the rwhp.
