with true long tubes, you'll delete the primary cats. You could leave the secondary cats in, or not. I've removed them, replaced with 3" mids that bolt up to the resonator, then stock from there back.

trying to see if anyone left the secondary cats in place. Wondering what power gains are like this and sound

Id also be curious if someone did a mid or full length header (lf possible) and left all the cats in place. Be curious to see what power was gained.

it would depend, u would need one if u ran long tubes and deleted the primaries, so yes.

but maybe no tune if running some sort of headers (log manifold excluded) and maintaining all the cats, if that is possible. In this situation im just very curious to see what gains come from just the headers.

I'm interested in your inquiry as well.

Also, I think another benefit to a race exhaust is the weight savings.

probably, but Im sure the secondary cats a restrictive. Anyone know what cell both cats are? I would assume 400 cell each.

But yes cats weigh a good amount, so good weight savings, but also im curious if there is any torque loss at low rpms...or maybe not with this engine, so far I havent really seen exhaust cause any low rpm torque loss. Prob cause its a big V8 but on my GT3 usually u gained at high rpms, but lost low end torque.

thanks for sharing...that just shows videos dont show sound properly. The vid with secondary cats sounds louder to me than the race exhaust, which it obviously isnt.

And dyno's between the 2 exhausts?

I'll be having this setup installed within the next two weeks. MBH LTs with OEM secondary cats, resonator and mufflers. I'll post up sound clips or video after the install.
