What to look for/be worried about when buying a used c63?
Hey guys, new here. I'm looking into a used c63 (something with sub 20k miles), anything I should look for, or be worried about? Any common problems? I currently have a 11 e350 which is a lease, but I'm selling my mustang (06 with 475rwhp) to get into another project/toy (I hardly drive the mustang, want something more in the sporty/comfort class). I was debating between the m3 and c63, but the 6.2l looks like it has a LOT more potential then the measly 4.0.
Any information would be appreciated, thanks!

I havent had any problems so far. Make sure that the C63 you buy has the LSD. The car eats rear tires and gets horrid gas mileage, but you forget about all that when you put your foot to the floor

Thanks for the info!
Any significant differences between an 08 and 10? Or differences at all?

One place to look is the inside of the rear rims. Check for evidence of multiple sets of wheel weights. I've come across M3s, C63s, and CLK63 Black Series for sale that had evidence of at least 3-4 sets of rear tires with only 10k miles on the odo.

Side mirrors changed for the '10, availability of the p31 package vs p30 before, various bits like buttons inside may have different icons, tailights went to leds, all but the 09 models allowed for folding mirrors AFAIK, other various changes. BTW, p31 unlike the p30 package adds an additonal 30 horses through ecu tuning, and SLS derived internals. Otherwise the two packages are pretty similar. Oh and I think key design changed slightly for the 2010 year

2010 have a better Ipod integration (shows on the Nav screen). You can also find the P31 option. LSD will be a seperate option. Do the usual Carfax. Rear tire and gas evaporate on these cars. MBZ PreOwned certified is worth a consideration.

Ok, i know this isnt the right forum for this but i dont feel like searching for the right one. Are these really worth the god awful gas mileage. Im getting a new car before i go to college and while i dont mind losing some mpg for some performance 12 city is rough! How bad is it on your wallet? Is it really worth it?

It's worth every penny. God invented these cars for people with no sense, too much money, and a desire to **** of evronmentalist. Hence the AMG saying .... All Mighty God....when ever you fill up. That's also the saying when you mash the gas. If gas milage is a concern, this will never be the right car for you. Go check out Cooper S Werks or a Lotus. BTW Tasho 3 has the kind of used C63 you should be looking for. Low miles, no winters, and well maintained.

MPG and a 6.2L V8 with almost 500 HP don't really go together. However if you enjoy fun cars and want to smile or giggle whenever you push that little pedal on the right, the C63 is a great car. It doesn't draw much attention in my area - for example besides the people I work with, only one kid at a drive thru said "That car is bad ***..." so I smiled and said "Thanks". Then he says "Is it a BMW?" FAIL.
However I didn't buy it to grab attention, I got it because I wanted a fun car which could destroy the rear tires as I saw fit. It does the job quite well, actually too good in fact.
I've got nearly 21 MPG on the highway doing 75 without cruise control. I can confidently say you can beat the 19 MPG on highway trips easily. Around town if I don't mash the gas and keep it in comfort mode I can get around 14-15 MPG. The thing is, the car has so much torque that you don't need to go above 2k RPM to accelerate faster than most cars driving around. However it only takes a few jabs at the throttle to ruin your good gas mileage. If I want good mileage I'll jump in the Civic. Wait, I don't have a Civic, damn! Where's my Chevron card... $$$$$$. All that said about 1/8th throttle in the C63 is like WOT in my 2007 Crown Vic Police Interceptor. The worst thing about the C63 is it makes all my other vehicles feel like I'm dragging Titanic's anchor behind each of them.

I'm pretty sure with the way gas prices are headed, you won't have much left over after filling up your tank!

2009's didn't come with P31's. Only P30's were offered and they included the LSD.

Hey tasho, I tried to buy yours a couple months ago when you had it listed on cars.com. I gave you a a cash offer of what your asking for now but you didn't take it. Well I ended up buying another one anyways. Why didn't you just sell it to me at that time..........

Of course, if you don't see chunks of rubber, you can still look at the wheel well carpeting to see if it's been brushed over with fingers to remove the chunks. haha
