So a buddy of mine just picked up the x5m. I drove it, and was driven and it seemed pretty fast, but lagged the jump we have in our cars. We went for a straight run from start and i was smoked by about 2-3 cars to 60. Furthur on we went head to head I was amazed, and we will do a rolling start later on, which i think i will take him. I understand this is due to 4 wheel drive... However my question is; from start how do we maximize our speed. Correct me if i'm wrong but i would throw the gear into d1, under "s" mode using sports traction, not OFF. And flooring it defeats the purpose so i would gradually accelerate...

Let me know what you think, and btw x5M is a nice ride for those who need or prefer an suv...

Wow, 2-3 car lengths is a lot, even with 4WD. You must have had a bad launch?

lol ya it was insanity, we went couple of times, the closest i got was a full car and a half from him. That car can jump of the start like no tomorrow...

With a tune, the X5M is a monster and is no joke. It will surprise even the top cars out there.

into triple digit speeds you will own him--- too heavy--- aerodynamics as well.

i have both the x5m and the c63 the x5 doesnt feel as fast because its so smooth but when you look at the speedometer ur already in the triple digits . .. tell ur friend to try launch control of he hasnt yet

the jump feels much better on our cars, thats due to the size of the x5m

the 2003 x5 4.6is is one heck of a beastly V8 though...I think they were gonna call it the X5M.
