Just mounted Ventus v12 k110 on

I just mounted the 265/35/18 Ventus V12's on stock 18's and left stock conti's up front. I now seem to be getting really bad body roll and handling issues. The front air psi is at 38psi and rears at 41psi. Any help would be great.

Not a big fan of mixing tires but the first thing I would try is lowering your pressures. 38/41 is recommended for full load>>>.no??

Try 37(Cold) all around to start then get out there and heat them up.

The V12 is Directional as well so make sure they are rotating the right direction (just in case)

Can you be a little more specific in what you're experiencing? Body roll would not be caused by a tire change. (Lower overall grip, a shift in the understering tendancy of the car, less precise turn-in, etc might be attributable to a tire change.) The mixing of different tires front and rear is not recommended and could be part of the problem.

Play with pressures a bit and see if that helps. Also, go back to the shop that installed the tires and have them road force balance them again in case one is off.

Another consideration is that new tires need a few hundred miles on them to wear off the mold release compound and reach their full potential. You might be experiencing some of that as well. I'm currently running the Hankook V12s and can tell you that they are very good tires for the price and offer good grip, reasonably crisp turn-in and progressive breakaway at the limit. I found the tires took about 500 miles to reach full performance.

Picked up a full set at CostCo last Oct. They were on promo.

A set of rears . 275.30.19 today in Toronto should come in around $800-$825 all in.

I think either TireRack online or
SteelCase tire in Markham (Ask for Dave...tell him I sent you) are your best bets today.

How do you find the road noise? I had Ventus's on my ML63 when i bought it and I thought the front diff was bad as the roaring was very noticable on the freeway.

Set of new Yoka Advans and its silent.

Well here's a pic of the direction. As far as body roll when i accelerate i can feel the back end wiggling and when turning side to side it's almost like a dog wagging it's tail.

Ive been using the Hankook V12's for a while, never had a problem with them. They do have a soft sidewall though and tend to squeak slightly when cornering hard.

Check the sidewall. There should be an arrow showing directional rotation Can't tell from the photo but my gut says they are installed correctly and its the high pressure giving you issues

Unfortunately Advans and Advan S.4s are backordered for a minimum of 4-8 weeks in the USA.

I truly feel sorry for the Japanese. Our great friends and those tsunamis and earthquakes, truly horrible devastation. When will it end?

I was told by a guy at the tire shop today that i went with the wrong size when going up... He said I should have gone 265/30/18. Is he correct or is 265/35/18 ok on the stock 18's with stock front tires?

The sidewall is very weak on the V12's. I found the same difference when I switched. Straight line performance is much better though if you went wider.

If you went from the Pzero to V12's and didn't go wider than you got nothing but loss in performance overall.

Going to the 275's give better straight line but the body roll sucks due to soft sidewall.

35 is the correct profile for an 18" tire on the c63. The tire guy is incorrect>>>

Put a couple hundred miles on them and see if things improve. While the V12s do have a softer sidewall than some other tires, they will still provide 90%+ of the performance of the top tires for about 40% less money.

Well now it seems I have another dilemma. The right rear tire seems to be slowly leaking air. I went back yesterday and they torqued the valve stems to something like 55lbs and said that should be the problem. They also filled the rears at 45psi, but later that night I went out only to be disappointed when my right rear was at 39/40 psi.

brother the tire has a release compound that is on it so it lets go of the mold when its made. I found this out when replacing my pilot sports in the rears. Drive about 500 miles on them.

Most likely a bad valve, just go back and tell them that it still is leaking and ask to have a new valve stem installed.

Most of Hankook and Kumho tires have very weak sidewall compare to German or Japanese brands.(such as Yokohama.)


I would strongly recommend to go with best tires such as PS2, Yokohama Advans, or ect.

That's interesting...I found the Hankooks to much quieter than the previous few tires I ran. (Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta & Nitto NT05)

I'm thinking of going with the Hankook Ventus v12 k110s. All I really do is just nail the right pedal down every once and a while. I don't really do much hard cornering. It's just my daily driver. I'm really looking for something that has decent performance and will have better wear. What do you guys think?

Then you'll be getting the right tire. It's all around a good buy for the price.

Agree. Your very expensive car (not to mention your life) is riding on four very relatively tiny patches of rubber. Why take the chance. A blow out at very high speed usually has very unpleasant consequences.

I have used these tires on three different cars. You are not going to get a 'blow out' just because these are cheaper.
