Seven AMGs at the Irvine Spectrum apartments!

Went to the Starbucks at the Village apartments in Irvine an hour ago and saw 6 AMGs parked there (seven including mine)! Two C63's (White and Red), a red CLK63 BS, white E63, a G55 and a CL63. I don't think I have ever seen so many AMGs in one place except car shows!Wondering if any of you are on this forum?

It's funny, cause last night I was parking in front of a restaurant and beside me was an S63 and a few spaces down was an SL63. I took a pic cause it was so random but the quality isn't so good.

I'm sure apartments in Irvine specially the ones owned by the Irvine Company are all $1800 to $3000. Even if that was the case, living at that type of apartment certainly cant justify having a CLK63 BS (unless it was purchase used) so I'm guessing it's some lawyer visiting his gf . C63s and M3s are pretty common though.

Speaking of which I live in one of the nicer apartment complex in Newport and there was a Ferrari 458 Italia parked out here on Saturday morning. I was seriously wondering who the hell owned that car.

AMG and M cars are like Honda Civics in Newport / Irvine area. I'm surprised you still think they are special.

The only thing that gets my head turning are Exotics. Here is a typical day in Fashion Island Valet Area:

Gt2, gt40, lol, supercharged sport, GranTurismo cabrio, sl600, GranTurismo S

I love how you referred to the Camry (I think it's a camry) as "lol"

There are a lot of areas like Newport in LA. Palos Verdes is full of rich ppl too. Marina Del Rey is another, Malibu...etc

Is it me or do I see a trend? All the coastal cities?

I know people that live there. I know that it isn't much. Plus, how many people there live with a roommate? Almost everyone. There are tons of students living there as well.

It's a great complex, but renting an apt and driving a $100k car isn't impressive.

The cost of living in OC is MUCH cheaper than LA, that's why you see lots of "nicer" cars there.

I guess the only requirement to rent an apartment there is to own an AMG

I didn't pay enough attention to notice as I drove past it. Maybe I'll take a closer look the next time I'm there (I've seen this car at the complex a couple of times)

I was thinking the same thing. Reminded me that there is an apartment community down the street from my house and in the summer I always see an orange Murcialgo parked there. I have concluded one of the the three following things, He's car poor and cant afford a better place, it's a girl friends house or it's his "Bat Cave" aka Stabin cabin LOL

LOL! "Stabin cabin" that's awesome

the thing that gets me about Irvine is that there are tons of nice condos, town homes, single family residences in the area that aren't expensive (they're like 400k - 500k), but when you look at the apartment complexes you'll see all these nice cars that just don't seem to belong.

LOL Phil- not even close to 1k for the Village- a studio is at 1500 right now maybe even more. One beddies are close to 2k but it all depends on when you rent and how you negotiate. So yes you can score but its all like business; it depends

True- there are few cheaper spots but most of them are well over 1k.

Much? really- whats the average cost of housing in LA... Do you really think there are nicer cars in OC because of cheaper housing Lets take a trip to Newport or Corona del Mar sometime. Boy all those nice cars and such cheap homes.

Have thought that its because there are richer parents...

LOL! I know, me using "MUCH" was a little "much". Newport and Corona Del Mar are most def nice and pretty close.

I was looking at homes this week and to be honest, I was a little jaded. For my price range, in Beverly Hills, I would get a complete dump (1800 - 2000 sq. ft. off some beaten road). But, in OC, I could get a pretty nice place in Newport or Corona Del Mar.

I think a better example are the condos, look at The Plaza in Irvine, they're not that much, but put that in Marina Del Rey or Century City, etc. and they'll be double the price.

I just thought people were more douchey

Exactly. A 2-bedroom in an IAC property (Irvine Apartment Community), in Irvine runs about $2200-2600 a month. Get a roommate and the rent is about $1100-1300 a month. Water, Gas, Electricity are minimal.

For some W-2 working stiff making about $70K a year, that leaves plenty for the most important accesory, a fine automobile. Apparently, many people have subscribed to this douche-bag way of living in the Orange Curtain.

Leverage, Leverage, Leverage!
