You can disable Stop/Start on the 2012's
Just a heads-up....i know alot of guys were concerned about the potential obstrusiveness of a "Stop/Start" feature....
"Stop/Start is active in the Controlled Efficiency ("C") transmission mode and switches the eight-cylinder engine off when the vehicle comes to a standstill. The stop/start function can be activated or deactivated using the ECO button on the centre console. When in transmission mode "C", the vehicle will always start up in second gear"

Stop/start is not just a feature tied to the 5.5 TT
It's a feature tied to the MCT Tranny....
"The big change for 2012 is the AMG Speedshift Plus seven-speed MCT transmission. The race-quick gearbox uses a multi-plate wet clutch instead of a torque convertor to ensure as much torque as possible makes it to the pavement. It improves fuel economy through more efficient operation and also features a conservation mode with start/stop function"

The 2012 C63 does not get start stop for North America. The info posted above only applies to the 5.5L bi-turbos.

anyways why would you to disable the feature. It's very advanced and well thought out. From the articles I saw, it reads the piston positions so it knows which pistons to fire first for the optimal quick start up. That is pretty sweet. I guess I would be concerned about the AC being effected.

The info posted above is actually specifically about the 2012 C63.
You would want to disable it at the track as you wouldnt want your car to shut off staging at the line

yeah I think I also read that start/stop is only in C mode. Which means if you switch it to S or M mode which I would presume you would at the track, the function would be bypassed. Sounds like a win win option to me!
