2011 X3?
This is off topic, but if anyone has a 2011 X3, I'd appreciate your thoughts on it.
We're looking for a vehicle for the wife and considering all sorts of options. Now that I've gotten used to the performance of the C63, I'd like her vehicle to be at least a little bit sporty also (since I'll be driving it too), and the X3 seems promising. We'll hopefully test drive it this week; BMW and Porsche dealers are literally right next to my office - like a kid living next to a candy store!

Have not driven either, but looks-wise I prefer the GLK to the X3. I really like that car, with those big factory wheels, in white...hell of a soccer-mom mobile.

i test drove X3 and GLK back to back, and the new X3 is far superior. In terms of performance, 3.0L turbo engine is much much better than the gone in GLK, and the auto transmission shifts really fast (if not faster than C63). I was really impressed with it and planned to get one as a winter vehicle.

I'll come out of left field and recommend the Volvo XC60 T6. Yes, Volvo. Go drive it, sit in it, listem to the Dynaudio surround sound, the 300bhp turbo six...you'll be surprised and at a similar price point.
I'll say this about the X3, however, much improved no question about it regarding this Austrian built BMW. Still, I am not sure what your intentions are with it. Personally, I have my uber soprts sedan and don't need to be banged around in a stiff riding SUV. If you are looking for that then it is a good option. I would rather relax in the second vehicle so to speak. Check out the Volvo!

Looking at a GLK for the fall to replace my wife's R-Class. No BMW dealer here so I don't think I will consider a X3. Not sure what else she might consider.

The new X3 is leaps and bounds from the old one and superior to the GLK in most categories IMHO. Test drove both. Look is subjective. It looks like a small X5.
I had bad luck with my US X5 (fell apart with about 80K miles) so who knows with this one,

Emer, I'm visiting Naples and Marco Island with my woman in July. I know its hot as hell, I was there in August once and I nearly fried my brain in a convertable and died.
Any fun activities or places or restaurants you recommend? We were gonna be staying on 5th Ave.
Thanks.
