2008 C63 AMG
my kill today
Thought you guys would like a nice story.
As I rolled down Hwy 6 today a black 2011 Mustang 5.0 was hotrodding in one of the other lanes. So I decided to let him know I was available.... he tried to race some Dodge diesel truck, so I put the AMG on his bumper to let him know, he wasn't going to out run me so easy.
So we get to the next light, but he is stuck behind me. So I thought I would manual mode the car and let him hear my new exhaust. Light turns green, I goose it a little and he does the same, so I let him have it and the race is on.... I pulled him roughly 4 cars till 100 mph where I let off.
So then he wants to roll race.... so I wait for him to get the right gear and I drop mine down till my rpms are around 4k (where it really starts pulling) and I tell him.... go ahead whenever you are ready. He hits it and then I hit it and AGAIN... put 4 cars on him to 95 mph.
Now he is pissed and wants to do it from a slower roll (last time was about 40mph, this time we slow to maybe 25-30. Same take off, SAME result.
I was very proud of my little grocery-getting family car. He pulled up and shook his head, said damn! gave me the thumbs up and raced off.
What a fun day at work. LOL.

Ghetto... I'm done with drag cars. Did that for the last 20 years, not taking my luxury car to the track. I was just having fun. I always do it as safely as possible. Never weaving in and out of traffic, never around other cars.

buddy on my recreational bball team has a GT500. That thing sounds like a monster. The interior is terrible and the fit and finish is so shoddy but that car is quick. He would eat me alive.

True. But I bought the car for luxury and sportiness. I've already done the speed thing several times. The last car I sold was a 2000 Trans-Am that ran 9.80's on pump gas with air conditioning and full interior on drag radials.
I don't mind getting out run, I still have the nicer car.

While I do enjoy spirited driving with random strangers (I won't call it racing 
).. this is also the reason why we have high insurance rates.. I'm with the others.. keep it on the track as best as possible..
That and the **** brown MD State Trooper cruisers scare the crap out of me... Far more than any other cruiser colour scheme for some reason..

Not that I don't believe you, but did you in fact see the 5.0 badging on the side of the Stang? I know the C63 can kill the pre-2011 Stang, but I thought the new 5.0 was faster than that.
I've read that the 5.0 is up to the task to take on the M3... I realize the C63 has a slight straight line advantage over the M3, but it isn't four car length...
Just a thought/comment...

I used to see the brown state troppers on that road, I agree they scared me more too for some odd reason. Even when I was doing nothing wrong I always thought they would pull me over.
