Trading in my C63 for a GT-R
Guys, I have been thinking about trading in my C63 for a 2012 GT-R. I emailed a dealer and they quoted me only 50k for it. I did some homework prior and there is a blue C63 with no P31 asking for 55k on cars.com, so I figured 50k seems low. Any toughts?

how many miles? and 50k on a trade is pretty damn good. The 55k one you saw is retail. Gotta remember you are saving a big chunk of sales tax so factor that into your trade in price or worth.

About 2000 miles and only 700 miles were mine, the rest was from my mother... I figured my P31 should fetch in more than a non-P31 with more miles, just saying.

p.s. If anyone of you wants it, then I might just as well sell it local. My car is at CA now and the GT-R is over at PA.

$50,000 for a trade in is a lot, you should really consider it. As far is the GTR, all I am saying is do your home work and go to NAGTROC read all the reviews o the GTR one more time.
Brakes on the GTR cost $8000. A transmission on the GTR cost $23,400 and the transmission fluid cost $70 a quart (take 12). The 2012 is a much improved model (launch control, power, suspension, aerodynamic, rims, suspensi on) but pricy to maintain.
Think about all that....

Not to many people fans of that sky blue whether it has p31 or not...p31 wont grab "thousands" more anyway on the used market especially when people know they can get a tune and save. Might give you a slight bump for someone really feeling like they need it and your color combo is what they desire...
Depends how badly you want to be in the GTR...sell at whatever price you feel will get it off your hands and that you are comfortable with...
GL with sale and have fun with the GTR. PS, why you switching when you barely get around to driving anyway???

I feel sort of stupid that I didn't get one in the first place, or hold out not buying the car before my move. Maybe I will get this idea over my head once I am back state side and drive my car a little more.

I know the GM at the dealer where I got my 2010 C63 with 12K miles(3 weeks ago). It was a trade in and they paid 52K(had to replace tires too) so you might be able to squeeze another couple grand out of it. Good luck!

It sounds like you're buying $30,000 winter tires... seriously, the AMG is not that bad in the snow. I live in Montreal (hilly, and much more snow than east coast US, and I had one bad day because I was stupid. Buy a good set of winter tires, and try the AMG in the winter. If you can't survive, go trade it in at that point...

Hes talking about the depreciation.
P31 isnt going to fetch much more than a non P31 if at all. Most dont know what it is and honestly can do without it unless your gonna track the car.
50K is a good deal on a 2010 trade with 2K miles. I would jump on it. You could probably squeeze about 2K more if you pushed them though.
The GTR is a great car. Very fast. Terrible interior and only 2 door. Unless you plan on modding the GTR the C63 is a superior car in almost every way in my opinion. It looks better, has a better interior, has 4 door and is almost as fast with a tune from dig and faster than the GTR from a roll.
Good luck with your decision.

Don't get me wrong, I love my C63 as there is nothing wrong with it. The problem for me is that when I got my car, I totally forgot that I will need AWD since I am moving to the east coast, and I can keep one car. I know this is a stupid reason, but I really don't want a down grade. Therefore the next car on my list is a GT-R...

May as well try a winter with it! The GTR will be around next year as well, so may as well drop a few hundred on a set of winter tires and give it a go.

Maintenance is *not* as expensive as you've heard.
