Steering Wheel

Found this on ebay thought someone might be interested, not sure if it will definitely fit a C63 but seems like a good price.

interesting. I can't picture what our airbag looks like wonder if it would fit? buttons are the same, layout is a little different. pretty cheap though. I know that Hartge wheel I bought for my m5 was way more money.

edit: nope the trim around the buttons on our wheel look like it's part of the airbag. with the new airbag I bet this is a direct plug and play swap.

Think you will need airbag as well as the current one is different

you know I bet it's the same airbag just different trim on it, the shape looks identical. the trim must separate from the airbag just where to source the new trim? If I wasn't in the middle of cooking dinner I'd probably go pull mine apart. Steering wheel removal has become my specialty.

if the parts lists were out and I was sure I could source the trim I'd probably jump on this.

It would look great with your silver car.

Not so much with black.

I bought one of these - its on its way for my 2010 C63. Price was too good to pass up. I am trying to find the airbag. Which will also likely be the same as the 2012 CLS. I wonder if the harnesses will work. Guess Ill just have to wait. Tracking shows it will be here next week

I bet the stock airbag will work it's just a matter of does the trim come attached to the airbag or not? Or can you get the new trim without the airbag? Having the same airbag is way cheaper for MB and it looks to be the same shape. I still haven't pulled mine apart yet waiting to get a look at US parts list for the 2012's when they come out.

that should get the trim off from there you'll be able to see the rest of the screws and wires and large bolt that holds it to the steering column. Unplug your battery before you start.

My 2012 Steering wheel came today...By the looks of it obviously the stock bag is not going to fit. Anyone have any idea when the parts diagrams and pricing comes out for the 2012 models. I have no idea how the seller I bought this wheel from got their hands on this thing...

Hope it will work in my 2010 - Anyone have any idea if the connector in the pic looks the same as the older model

The stock airbag should fit. In fact, the stock airbag from any MB steering wheel should fit.

Reasoning, cost, it would cost significantly more to produce a different model airbag unit for each model in the range. The trim on the other hand, that will be a problem. You may have to rewire the harness though...

Be very very very very very very very careful... you do not want to trigger the airbag by accident.. it is a small explosive device, and could do some serious damage...

I am confused here (new to MB) ... I thought that the controls were included in the airbag assembly on the 08-11 cars. Is that not true? Maybe you are saying the airbag is sold separately from the control and cover. Clearly if you look at this picture of the 2012 it has a completely different setup.

Just wondering why would you assume its the same?

The 2012...

The airbags I have found on eBay (keep in mind they may be including the whole controls for some reason) maybe thats where I am confused...

I agree I am trying to figure out what Jvan is saying...

And trying to figure out if it will plug up when the 2012 airbag is avail..I have my doubts. But for $450 I figured buying the wheel was a no brainer

I stand corrected.

While the airbag module itself may be the same across the board, it does appear to be attached to the trim piece which is different. Part number A2048603302

It appears different (at least according to EPC-net online) for different wheel types.

Right... but where do you think you are going to find a 2012 trim piece? No one would sell it without the airbag.
