What Other Performance Car Would You Get, While Keeping Your C63?
I enjoy the C63 so much that I'd like to get another performance car, primarily for the sake of variety. The wife and I would be trading it and the C63 back and forth, and we have a child, so the second car needs to have a decent back seat. We don't have a specific budget, but it would be nice to stay under $100K. And we'd like something new, so we can do a business lease.
The main candidate right now is the M3. We drove the convertible yesterday and I thought it was great. Seems to be best performing convertible you can get with a real back seat. Much less power and fun rawness than the C63, but has nice precision and grip, and the engine sounds good at high revs. We still need to drive the sedan and coupe, which should have higher performance and lower cost, plus I think they look better. I'd appreciate input from people (especially C63 owners) who have hands-on experience with any of the current M3 variants.
Besides the M3, any other suggestions?
Thanks.

I would get the Audi S4 Avant...lots of room for your children. Not quite as fast as the M3, but the interior is beautiful and Quattro is amazing!!!! Living in Maryland, as you do, quattro is an amazing winter feature to have. And being only about 50K, you'll save some $$ too!
***** and a**holes drive BMWs, especially the M3.
If you want to take advantage of the 100K, the S6 would also be an option.

ferrariyellow44, I had the S4 Avant, it's a fantastic car, wish I still had it.
I'm not a hater, I would have no problem getting the M3 with Competition Package as well as having a C63.
Anyone who has had a chance to drive the car hard knows it is an incredible machine.
In LA there is no shortage of *** clowns with M3's, if there were more C63's the same would probably apply.
Runner up for me is the RS5, but it's too expensive and maybe too refined for my taste.
IAA-C63, this is the last year of the M3 sedan if you weren't already aware.

2009 C63
Well, here's my other car. I've had it a lot longer than the C63. Since it's paid for that adds to the enjoyment. Alternatively, I really like Aston Martins and used ones can be had for reasonable $$.

Thanks for the heads up. If we decide to go M3 and don't really need a convertible, we'd probably get the sedan (more practical than the coupe and costs less, plus I like the sedan look). So we'll expedite our decision making.

Strange thing is that I remember enjoying the 4S more than the Turbo. Could be faulty memory, or maybe the 4S is more nimble because it's lighter (and no turbo lag). And I also enjoy driving the C63 more than the Turbo, though the Panamera does have it's own special appeal.
Bottom line, I think we need to give the 4 and 4S another try.

Miserly mpg, exhibitionist torque (i.e. Q5 TDI)
Funny that you mentioned the Panamera. I've driven the Panamera 4, S, 4S, and Turbo many times, and it was originally my first choice of car (and I like the appearance), but I went with the C63 because it's less flashy. Now that I have the C63 available, I'm going back to the idea of adding the Panamera.

Too bad they dont build a new RS4, that would really be the perfect car for you! The S4 is probably going to be a little underpowered for your taste, but its still a great car to drive and the interior is, in my opinion, on par with the Porsche.
The idea about the Aston is also good, but its in a different ball game!

Top runner for me is an RS4 - but the local dealer told me they just never see them back on the lot as they only made them for two years and the people that have them, like them.
Other options are an M3 six speed or a 911 like the gorgeous one above but I think I'll likely graduate to a 997 turbo when I grow out of my C63 so I want to save that for later.
Right now I am leaning more towards an '05 or an '06 M3 which I have owned before and can pick up at half the cost of the contemporary M3 and from what I've read the new one is not that much better than the E46.

Suggestions for you: M5, Panamera or the CTS-V.
I'm in the market for an extra car myself; just a little more research left before I pull the plug on a new 911 Turbo. I just test drove this beast a few days ago and it was pure love at first throttle.

To get performance which satisfies a C63 owner, looks like at least the S is needed. The GTS is better yet, the Turbo would crush the C63, and the Turbo S is an outright supercar. But they're all pricey, with even the S going over $100K with decent options.

AWD would be a plus, and the RS5 and GT-R look promising from that standpoint. Both under $100K, and the GT-R's performance is outrageous.
