Those of you with dogs...
...do you put them in your C63? If you do, what protection do you use on the seats and/or door panels? I have seen some products for the seats that makes sense, but nothing really comprehensive for the door panels so the dog can hang out the window without destroying the door. Any luck?

She's a dutch shepherd...so not the type of dog to destroy things but certainly the type to hang out the window and not care what she's scratching to get there. Leather door panels = destruction.

wow....taking your seats out is a bit extreme . i have two 70 lb. Black Labs and i have never had to take out the seats . my dogs fit just fine and hang out the window with no problem . when i get back , i just wipe down the seats with a wet cloth . majority of the time , i am taking them in the GLK but i have had them in the C63 before .

Ive got a Shetland Sheepdog. It's a medium sized dog. I keep the windows closed and the A/C for the back seats in max ventilation (so, it won't scratch the doors).
As for the seats, I cover them with beach towels or sheets. (what always reminds me of that Pulp Fiction scene where Harvey Keitel tell Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson to cover the seats with Tarantino's sheets, after they have exploded some guys brain for accident) :p

Beautiful dog. If you kept the nails filed it shouldnt be much of a problem on the leather. The paint and chrome might get a bit scratched on the door.

i do not have a dog but i have a friend that has a chocolate lab named maggie. she has a little doggy crush on me. best girlfriend i ever had lol.
she is very well behaved hence thousands and thousands of dollars of doggy school. she knows not to come up front....stays in the back and i just put down beach towels. only thing she ever messes up is putting her doggy nose all over the window but thats easy to clean up.

I have a dalmatian and a great dane.. and I have had them both in my car at the same time on may occasions. Except for the drooling down the side of my car, even with the pinch collar on, there is no damage to the door panels or glass (so far.... knock on wood).. I generally just put the seats down, the lining of the back of the seats and the trunk is the same nylon carpet crap that every other car has. I just stick a nice thick piece of canvas down over the edge of the top of the seat to protect the leather that still shows (and I remove the head rests altogether)

I use a cover similar to this one. It is easy to install and remove and it protects the back of the front seats. It does not protect the doors/windows though.

I stuff my 85lb chocolate lab in the back of my S5 which only has 2 doors.
I throw down a towel and tuck it in the corners, like others have said drool seems to be the most annoying, but it wipes off.
Can't wait to have 4 doors.

I was contemplating the same thing. I just purchased a Yellow Lab a few weeks back and I've let her sit in the car to the vet. She's a hyperactive little puppy that requires a blanket and someone to sit back there to watch her. My fingers are crossed right now that the crate training will carry over to the car. lolz

The worst time is when they are puppies. Their claws are very sharp and permanently mark plastics and such very easily. I keep them out of the car unless they are being nursed by someone until they are older. Then it usually just a matter of cleaning up hair and slobber which is made easier if you use some type of aftermarket pet seat cover.

lol
I use to take my pups in my e55 until they were about 6months, than they just starting getting big, drooling everywhere, hair everywhere lol. Now at 11months and 105-110lbs a piece I take them in my beater, and the leather in their is VERY scratched/scuffed because of them.
I wouldn't suggest putting big dogs on just the leather, some sort of cover is definitely necessary!
