09 C63 40k miles service--dealer wants $1400-$1500
My 09 C63 AMG just hit 40,000 miles and I am considering paying the dealer for service B since I've done it all my self previously and I only have about 10k miles left on the original warranty.
For the 40k service, which includes (among other things)
rear axle differential fluid change
oil and filter change
brake fluid change
transmission oil and filter change
and all the other inspections..
The quote from the dealer is $1400-$1500. Not a fixed price like I've seen for other service A,B
Questions--
is service B0 the same as service B at 40k miles?
What have others paid?
Thanks in advance,
Paul

Rear differential Fluid
You'll need 2 qts at ~ $31/ea
Labor time is anywhere from .5 to 1hr.
Engine oil and filter is roughly $150 include oil and filter
Brake fluid service i think most dealers charge 1-2hrs plus $20-30 for fluid.
Transmission service
You'll need 10 qts of the 722.9 fluid at ~ $18/ea
filter is roughly $31
service time is roughly 2-2.5hrs
You can see how this quickly adds up, but if your local let us help you out

I'm more concerned getting this service done because I only have 10k miles left on my warranty before the extended kicks in... Just want to make sure everything is sound because I love this car and plan on keeping it forever (or until I can afford a 911 twin turbo convertible).

I don't know man... based on the fairly accurate description from James@ACGSD you are not that far off as far is price. I added the prices from James ACGSD and it comes up to about $1050-$1100. Are you sure that this inspection doesn't include the in cabin filter?. I heard that the in cabin filter is a bi-a-atch to do.
I would say to negotiate with the dealer and see if they can drop the price a little bit and that will put you in a fair expense range for the service.
A couple of extra questions. Where are you that is so dusty? I though I was in a dusty place (AZ). Also, what branch or service?

There was another member here that did the a-la-carte route and only got the stuff he needed done at the dealer for a good amount cheaper..

Just had my A3 service done and will have to do the differential, brake, and transmission services.
For the record, the A3 itself was ~$130 at my local, independent shop and they estimated the other three services at under $700.

If you have access to a lift its pretty straight forward to do all those.
You will need a pump to pump in the tranny fluid through the drain plug.
The tranny pan has torque to yield bolts that you only use once, you will need new ones.
