Got the dreaded CEL yesterday! I dropped the car off this morning at MB. Ended up being the intake manifold gasket was leaking. Has anyone else had the same issue?

had the exhaust manifold leak but never heard of the intake leaking

My buddy had the same problem (member: FaresUAE) its an easy fix.
I currently have the Evosport phenolic intake manifold heat spacers and are very happy with them.

Happened to me it's a common issue it seems. They replaced my gasket and installed an updated bolts. No issues since.

Codes where P0171 and P2187. I had it in two three weeks ago for a purge valve. CEL came back on two weeks later. They also had to tap two holes and replace the studs bolts. Not what you want to see on your invoice. Kind of makes me nervous...

I had P0171. Replaced K&N filter, CEL came back right away, Replaced Purge valve then CEL came back on after a week..
Dealer invoice says they did smoke test, replace intake manifold gasket and bolts.
no more CEL.

Sounds just like what has happend to me. How many miles have you run sense then? I've had K&N for years with no CEL.

i think i put 2-3K miles since. K&Ns will be going back in when I have time since they were never the problem.
