Wicked Wednesday, 20 July at Pacific Raceways

I've hesitated to put this up, but the weather should be good. I'll be there between 5 and 6, gates open at 4:30. I know of at least one other forum member going, let's get some more AMGs!!

This is catered toward street legal vehicles, so shouldn't be as crowded!

Yikes! Wish I can come, to at least watch you guys! But sadly, I don't get off work until 5:30, and I work up North. As for the weather....well, yea....you never know.

Good luck!!!!

Here's a video of my best run. Near the end of the evening after it had cooled down. Since there were relatively few cars, it was nice to almost be hot lapping and be able to work on launching the car.....which is what I need to work on. Even with the 17" hoosiers, my best 60 was 1.795, which is the video here. 11.66 @ 120.62

Weather was sunny about 75. I think DA of about +400.

Hopefully w/ some new slicks, better launch and 60, I can run 11.3x. Only weight reduction is what's listed in my sig b

I missed out! But nice run Even Money. The next session on a weekend I'll be there, though the crowds might be bad.

No worries..I'm thinking of a track rental sometime in Sep/Oct., Pac or Woodburn.

I got about five or six runs, all about 11.7X, trap around 119. Then took a break for an hour while it cooled down. The video run was #2 of 3 at the end of the night. I was half and half with 92 and 101 oct. The car was picking up nearly 1 mph on each run...then they closed the track!!

Thanks! I think in the video, about 1200? I was trying everything all day/night. And experimenting with tire pressures, was down to around 22 psi.

Next time you go to the track, start by launching from idle and work
your way up to about 1800 rpm and log it on your timeslips so you can
compare your runs.

I remember when I was Atco earlier this year and I was launching
between 1200 - 1500 rpm and couldn't get my 60' down lower than
high 1.7's. I started launching at 1000(thanks to Mthis) and all of a
sudden low 1.7's consistently and I ran my best ET that day too.

Did you check your tire pressures after every few runs? As they heat up
the pressures increase which can hurt your 60'.

There is only one way to learn...

When I run my hossiers I go lower then that. It's funny cause when cooling the car with 16lvs in them the tires look flat..

Cool...I'll def try that next time. Just felt uncomfortable to know there would only be 20 psi or less in the tires...I think having new slicks will help too.

Thanks! Checked a few times, I knew I would have to keep letting air out. It's hard to stop though, when the lanes are open ahead of you! I'm sure half of my runs at least were probably not the optimal tire psi setup, but the burnouts were fun! BTW, thanks James for the line lock! That makes it so easy...

Almost forgot, front tires at 50 psi will help too.

How is the line lock mounted? on the shifter? I have to invest in one soon.

Call James... I had the switch routed into the cabin through the fuse box, it hangs just by the e-brake. It's a pushbutton on a telephone like cord. I hold it with the left hand, right hand on the wheel to shift from 1st to 2nd during the burnout.

If you want some real fun, the Northwest Alpha Romeo Club is running a track event at Pacific this wednesday 7/27. I am planning on running.
$180 for 2 hrs of full track time plus the tank of gas you will go through is amazing bang for the buck.
