CLS63 AMG vs C63 AMG Black Series
I am looking at getting rid of my CTS-V Coupe, and am eyeing the new CLS63, or the C63 AMG Black Series (can't wait for the official debut).
I know the CLS will be much more luxurious, but does it feel like a pig?
One of the reasons I am getting rid of the Cadillac is that it weighs close to 4400 pounds and you can feel it in the corners, etc. I know the C63 Black Series will be lighter, but does the CLS63 feel particularly porky, or is it somewhat lithe and quick on its feet?
In a straight line, does the new CLS63 outgun the "old" CLK63 Black Series?
Do you guys think that MB will eventually put the 5.5 bi-turbo in the C63?

From what ive heard the CLS63 feels light on its feet and doesn't feel like a heavy car, and will dominate the old CLK63 Black Series in straight line performance.
There is no way of knowing if MB will put a 5.5TT in the C, only time will tell.

I doubt that they will put the 5.5LTT in the C class until the next generation. I think the reason it wasn't included in the face lift was I heard that it wouldn't fit the engine bay.

Hmm...I wonder if I'll feel left out in the cold if right after I buy the Black Series and Mercedes decides to put the 5.5TT in the C-Class..
I want the 5.5TT over the 6.2 actually, call me crazy but I want that extra torque.

Having driven the CLS63, it is anything but a pig. A Black Series car is a whole different kettle of fish though. The CLS biturbo has a great sound and endless torque and is far more luxurious.
Wither would be a phenmoenal choice

I have test driven the CLS63 along with the rest of the AMG fleets on the track during the AMG events... and I can tell you they are all monsters with agility. After few hours of rotating cars (ML63, C63, CLS63, E63, SLS, S63 & SLK55)... I didn't even know which cars I was driving as they all felt great in handling. It just proved AMG did a great job building these cars.
I can't comment on the Balck Series though as I never had the chance to test drive one yet. It might be a whole different world in term of power.

The CLS63 and the C63 Black Series are two completely different cars. One is a fast luxury car the other is a track machine. I think you can figure out which one is which. I have never driven a Black Series but there is no denying the numbers.

Different cars - I loved the feel of the CLS during the test drive enough to buy one. BS's have generally been much MUCH more track-oriented & none-too-comfy as a DD.

A similar question (if you were looking at Porsche's) would be, do you want a Panamera Turbo S or a 911 GT3

The way I see it is a C Class is entry level and always will be. I love my C63 but it is an entry level car on steroids. Fine by me. However, you look at an Audi A6, 5 series and E class and these cars, in my opinion, are the true reflections of the company. They want us to get out of the C Class and go to these cras. Materials, build quality, etc...is more representative of the respecive brands.
The Black Series is a great car and will be a collectible. A car to buy. I would personally be all over the CLS63 as a car that I would lease, though. This is an E class at a higher level of style and panache. They are the same price in Canada...I have a hard time justifying the Black Series on a C class. The CLK Black looks better and more prestigious. I would like to see it in person though to make a final judgement.
I know that with 120 cars or so it will be an instant classic and , ultimately I guess, impossible to compare to a mass produced uber sedan but at this stage CLS63 for me.

I agree. I love the new CLS63. But if I want one, I'll wait 2~3 years and pick up a CPO'd CLS63 for half the price.
The only AMG currently bucking the classic AMG depreciation trend is the SLS.
