Feeler: P31/LSD/CF car for sale
Hope I am not violating any forum rules, but I thought I would put out a feeler on my C63. It's a 2010, steel grey / black with P31, LSD, carbon fiber interior, keyless go, navigation, back-up camera, and full clear bra. It does NOT have leather seats, but rather the black and grey checkered cloth and MB Tex. I am the original owner; it has 5.5K miles, had the rear diff oil changed, and has already had two oil changes. It has a little curb rash on a couple wheels, but is otherwise like new. I have the title, which is clean, as well as the window sticker, all original manuals, keys, etc. Based on looking at Autotrader, I was thinking I might be able to get the low sixties unless the lack of leather is a poison pill...am I smoking crack? Thanks.

Interesting...it seems like you have every option BUT leather! While I wish my car was a P31, no leather is a deal-breaker for me...(but I love the CF trim.)
Based on all of the other options you have, I'm assuming that you just prefer the cloth to the leather?

I didn't even know this car could come w/o leather seat? Post pics of your car, it could help sparks some interest. As for the price, it will be hard to sell it for low sixties considering the face lifted 2012 are just around the corner. Our gen will depreciate quite a bit.

Q: When did you take delivery??
Q: Do you have photos?
Q Where are you located???
Comment: Cars like that (similar , BUT not exact) are going through the chutes at auction in the HIGH 40s, low 50s per my dealer buddy who ran some stats for me. Probably a very nice car BUT the value is dropping too with the advent of the 2012 model and its new trans. Lack of leather will hurt every time in a higher end MB. Your car is how I'd spec one BUT the price is on the high side (to me anyway).

Original sticker was $80K.
I took delivery in July of last year.
I live in Portland, Oregon.
I am on a business trip now so it is in the airport garage, but I'll try to take some pictures when I get back. Thanks.

i was looking at a c63 without leather a while back and from what i gathered the leather seats are part of the lights package where you get the black housing headlights, so i m assuming your car has chrome housing on the headlights unless something has changed with the packages in the last year or 2?

looking at the face of the 2012..... i have a hard time believing that its somehow going to devalue the previous generation some obscene way. its simply not an improvement. i wouldnt trade mine for that for even a second. the tranny is a tranny.... that will count for something but not $40k difference for a guy who is shopping for a car with this MOTOR theyve been reading the last 5 years about.
i see a basement on these things in the 40-45k range if the car is clean with low miles. there is simply too many who can afford it at that price and will be lining up like crazy for it..... lining up just like i was. imo.... to get a amg63 motor in a car with the older generations lines, and less than 20-30k miles, is simply not going to price this car into the 30s for a VERY long time.

J Bro:
In 2010 there was no lighting package and the seats were stand-alone as far as I remember, but others may know better.
Palerider:
I like how you think, and agree that the new looks and MCT are not a huge improvement...good changes, but not a huge improvement. I actually think the current tranny is sweet. Don't get me wrong, I would rather have the new car, but I think I would be rational about how much I was willing to pay. Overall, I think these cars (from 08 through the end of production) will hold their value better than other AMG C-class cars, because the motor is just so special...and it will become even more so as the socially responsible world moves to smaller displacements with forced induction. Just my $0.02.

Palerider, there's plenty of them getting into the low-mid 40s now, so where is the true basement?? Take a look at the GTR, its starting to take a dump now that the 2012 models with a host of revisions are out. I never thought I'd see an 06 SL65 in the 40s BUT they are there.

Newzchspy: I totally agree that it is worth what the market will pay, and I too never let my love of the car delude me about it's market value. If I get it up for sale and eventually sold, I'll report back with the results. Thanks.

as far as the gtr and sl65 its apples to oranges.... you need to be wealthy or have ***** of steel with the wife to justify a 40-50k sports car sitting in the garage for a toy thing on the weekend. you need to be neither to buy a 4 door sedan that the kids can all fit in for the drive to work or soccer practice as your primary. ALOT more people will see our car as a viable option once it resides in the 40s and that demand should keep it there a minute if the miles stay low.
i price checked my loaded 09 19k mile car at carmax 2 weeks ago and i was offered 48k flat 2 weeks after i bought it. i did it with the intent to find out where i stand for the very purpose of this discussion. i feel confident in the market of these cars moving forward that they will retain their value better than their predecessors have..... mb kind of broke the mold with this car a bit and i think we can remain optimistic because of it.

i just went to cars.com and there are 110 c63s listed used in the country. 5 out of those 110 are between $40-45k, and none are in the 30s. the vast majority of even the 08s and 09s are $45-55k still. those 4% of cars you describe are all probably flawed or high mileage..... thats not the car i was describing in my previous post and i feel you are simply exagerating your claims for what these are really selling for. thats especially outside of the larger urban markets.

** Thats fine, BUT many thought the same thing with the limited production of the C32 and the C55, BOTH of which have taken a BIG hit in the market. Your car is no different than mine in the essence of how the auctions look at these vehicles. Again, the value is what it is. You can continue to think the 08-11 will hold their value. Talk to me in 6 months when the 12 has a firm grip on the market. Its just the way the Business of Cars works. I believe the production of the 32/55 was less than the 63 leading me to believe that once the demand for the 63 drops off, you'll see a precipitous drop in the value. Mark my words, in 6 months, you'll see 63s in the 30s.

Here are some pics, as it seems people were interested in seeing the MB Tex interior among other things. The car is stock except for clear bra, window tint and some matte vinyl applied over the window surrounds, the grill, and the trunk handle. I also tinted the fog lights yellow, which works (although I had some doubts). The actual miles are 4,950.

thank you for the pics. first time I've seen those seats. I like them. Very unusual car you have there. If I didn't have one I'd buy yours in a heart beat.
