The Hammer and the Scalpel
Am liking the look of my garage...just picked up an E30 M3 for street/track use. It's a tough call picking which one to jump into every morning...https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif

Cool. I myself have been contemplating getting an older car like an M3 strictly for track use. I have a new C63 and 911S, but I'm not sure it's a good idea to use either of those on the track until I get more track experience with a "practice" car.

M156 and LS7
C63 is a good car to track, 911s is better, just do some DE, you will be doing well

M3 specs: it's a little bit of a Frankenstein monster...
Engine is built S50 from '95 M3 w/ matching trans. 3.73 gears for perfect powerband on track.
Turner Motorsports J-Stock suspension. UUC shortshifter, engine mounts, clutch, flywheel.
BBS CH 17x8.5 wheels all around
Recaro seats and Momo wheel on inside.
It's like a go kart on steroids.

Wow, I didn't realise the E30 M3 was so much smaller than the C63. It's been a while - I owned an '88 Henna Red M3 for five years from new. I still miss that car.

Awesome E30, with E36 engine...I wish I could try out what that feels like.
I too have the same set of tools...

Thanks all. Trying to squeeze most fun out of both cars before weather turns nasty in OH.

I just picked up an '08 6spd M3 at the Auction for dirt cheap. I've been driving it for the last 3 days and went on a long hell run last night....
Would never even consider getting rid of my C63 for it....for me the C63 is just all round better on the road.....
I get why the M3 is a great track car....mainly its harder to shake it up because of the less adrupt power surge....and super stable in the corners...but i like my corners sideways and full of smoke....
Less Hammer and Scalpel for me....
and more Angelina vs Meg
I prefer the wilder ride

Callmiro, nice rides.. Do u mind sharing what is an auction buying process like? And how did this car ended up there for dirt cheap as it looks in great shape from the pics? We have the C63 & ISF in our family already, an M3 (4 doors though) would complete the collection nicely.

The car is super clean and fully loaded with the carbon fiber roof. At the last warranty service the original owner had the steering wheel and shifter replaced for wear and tear so the interior looks brand new, and also has the carbon fiber package...
'08 M3's are ending up at the auction for dirt cheap because all the 3 year leases are expiring now in '11 and the dealerships dont want used M3's on the lot because its hard to justify the $90k sticker with a used one on the lot

I think I like you Angelina/Meg analog better!
The size diff bween E30 and C63 is exaggerated by lower rode height of M3
