You can use fishing line to remove the guards, After wards use some Goo-Gone to remove the adhesive.
Used this method when removing my trunk spoiler and it worked well.
Btw The car is lookin great!

Is that an Australian piece added on to the bumper? Never noticed them before and nothing like that in Canada. Never noticed them for sale aftermarket either. If you check carefully and cannot see any visible fasteners (take the fender liner out and check from the back side as well) then they must be held on with double sided tape or neoprene cement. A fishing line and a little heat should get them gone if they don't have any mechanical fasteners. I think you are on your own on this one. Just go slow and try not to damage anything. Let us know how you make out.

This is definitely something for Europe, Canada and Australia as C63 for the US do not have this feature.

I have an Aust delivered (May) 2010 model in Tenorite Grey. Has the black stuck on trim as you describe.
Curious as to why you want to remove it? I am not sure it is a cosmetic piece - ? designed to protect the rear guard from being peppered with stones flicked up by the rear tyres

The reason I was going to take them off is I put new tyres on and they are scraping a little, thought it may be the stone guard thing causing the rubbing
