FYI, I got rear ended by a moving truck as I was sitting in traffic. 16K in damages.

Anyway, only the bumper had some scratches and a couple of dents. The aluminum bar was fine and the shocks didn't collapse. Since it's a 4.8iS, the bill was almost $1,800 (new bumper skin and paint) ..... hope you got her insurance info

I'm glad it was just a bump. When I hear Rear ended I imaged your car being all messed up.

Plastic/urethane can be repaired. Fusor, SEM and 3M makes a bunch of plastic repair products. You should be fine. And if it can't be repaired, then perhaps a 2012 rear bumper?

didn't know your back door was open for business...
why are you so eager to bondo it...it's a merc with dents and scratches. Replace the thing, it's not on you. New bumper and paint/install is probably 2k. Unless your getting laid or eating cornhole why so nice?

Dad's rear bumper with integrated diffuser.
Good luck with the fix. Ask a dent removal place if they can fix the dents for you,
I think dentdevils are thru out the country so look it up and maybe they have a spot by u.

Ps. Dont feel bad about it
Maybe this will make u feel beter lol. I got my car back from body shop yesterday at 3pm and went back to work till 11pm and on the way home a 4-5inch tree branch dropped rite in front of my path, If I dint manuver out the way my hood and windshield would have been all F'ed up. Only got away with a quarter and nickel size dent on my roof.
And dentdevils are fixing it tomorrow.
What luck huh.

2007 E63 w/P30 and Eurotech CF Diffuser
Last year (in Ca), you could have got the repair completed for about $200. The vendor would have filled and deep scratches and then matched paint and done this all in your driveway.
In 2011, they are no longer allowed to use hydrocarbon based carriers. It must all be water based. As a result, it can only be done in a shop and usually the whole bumper. The water based stuff just does not dry fast enough.
As a result, you are looking at a new rear bumper and paint. spot fixes are no longer possible.
It is a shame. The guys who fixed my front bumper made it so good you can only tell if I point it out.

So you got a lot of other topics loaded into your thread, so let me pop in the political one.

I got rear ended 10 days ago, got her insurance to get me a brand new bumper for tire marks, ripped clear bra and a small hole in the bumper. I refused a LKQ/refurbished one, so after a little "friendly" discussion, they got me a brand new one. Car will be ready Friday. Sorry for thread jack.
