How to acheive best acceleration figures

I have had my C63 amg PPP for a month now and have tried a few configurations. In my mind Manual mode appears to be quickest but this may be subjective. I wanted to ask....

1) Which gear change resuls in quickest acceleration. M or S ?
2) What revs should gear be changed at?

Thanks

I tried both modes at the dragstrip and sometimes the M is better than S mode but not always. The reason why I am saying this is because if you take too long to shift it on M mode it will hit the red line and the car actually slows down during the hard acceleration until it shifts back up again.

On S mode it might shift sooner but you never miss a shift and it will never slow you down because it shifts for you before it hits the rev limiter.

As far is the ESP. I found that with a nice pair of rear tires you can actually launch decently with the ESP completely off. I personally think that the M mode is simply one of the worst shifting systems in the market,it is slow and imprecised. On M mode you have to wait for a slugish reaction, you hit the paddles shifter and it takes an eternity for the RPMS to move or forthe engine note to change...it is pitfall on the AMG brand.

I have had a 335i with steptronic is it is galaxies ahead. my .2c

Amen about the M mode. Having just come out of a C63 into a M3 with the M-DCT it is light years ahead. There is so much to love about the C63 but the transmission could use some work. If the 2012 update is truly improved then that will be great.

Yeah but lets be fair here. The DCT from BMW is a twin clutch and the current C63 transmission is full Auto. I will always favor the DCT no matter what.
With the new MCT from AMG it should be on par with BMW DCT and all other competitors like DSG(VW -Audi), PDK(Porsche) or the E-something rom Lambo etc, etc

I'm definitely interested in hearing the official reviews and owner feedback on the MCT transmission in the 2012 C63. I hope it's great.

M mode () is best for overall control of the car, but I agree that S is better for drag racing.

M mode is fun because of the throttle blipping on downshifts.

AMG GLC63. Audi R8
M mode has faster shifts if you can master it by shifting before hitting the redline which kills your times. The throttle blimps on downshifts even in sport mode.

My C63 doesn't have any blimps.
