Please tell me that I am not the only one on this forum that has a wife that presents an obstacle ( Physiological) when it comes to modding your car.

How is your wife feeling about you modding your car or spending money on the car for ie:rims, stereo, carbon fiber parts, spoilers,exhaust, etc?. To me, this is always a never ending issue.

Life is *****y on this end. Even though I am the only one paying the bills I still have to endure criticism from someone that don't even pay the bills.
Let me hear from you. What is your situation? Like always, I had to tell her that the car was going to be down for 2-3 days due to sending the ECU.

My fiancee is cool about me modding my car as long as its not going to effect us financially (bills, etc).
The only thing I hear complaints about is that she doesn't want me driving fast because she doesn't want me killing my self or getting into an accident (kinda defeats the purpose of owning a C63)

Just the other day we were discussing about if I should keep the C or move on to a GT-R.
Shes trying to convince me get the GT-R since she knows how much I love the car.

I used to have that problem too and it was rough. Then I learned to spoil the wifey before she would let me spoil myself. Women are all different but I've found that for every handbag I buy her (usually Chanel or Louis), I can do one mod and have zero complaints.

Say nothing to her. Explain nothing to her. Just do it and if she asks questions tell her the car has always been l ike that. You don't follow her around to the shoe store when she drops a bundle on some Jimmy Choo's or the cosmetics counter for $1K of make up complaining about it.

The part in bold kills that argument altogether. Your wife does not pay any bills, so she should get a nice warm glass of shut the hell up. No insult intended. Marriage is a beautiful thing when two intelligent respectful people come together and work together and understand the fundamental differences of men and women. Frustration sets in when this simple a$$ rule is not in place.

My household, which is DINC'd I don't have sort of issue as long as bills are paid. My wife loves the mods I have had done to any of the cars, and is understanding that is what men do. Just like women love shoes and handbags, that is what they do. As long as the understanding and respect for that is there, it works. Ask her why she needs 100 pairs of shoes or 20 handbags and bug the hell out of her so she will learn the lesson. Just a thought.

I say try the soft approach as well: it being a hobby and all, if she doesn't go for it,
do what you want anyway, life is too short to not enjoy yourself.....
she'll have to find a way to manage......that you manage your money well you know?

so I was on the way to dinner with my wife and daughter in the 63, and I say.....
'Oh, I ordered a 2000 dollar part for my car today'( vorsteiner rear diffuser),
her reply........"oh what does that do?"

I love stories about stay at home wives telling their man what he can spend money on etc. My wife is a successful lawyer and I personally would have never married a woman w/o a career.
Funny story, my wife's boss makes around $750k and his wife stays home and he complains that his laundry is never put away, etc. And he has to look through piles of clothes in the morning when he gets ready for work.
If I was pulling in all the money in my house I'd want a hot breakfast waiting for me in the morning and ironed underwear in the closet
Anytime my wife mentions quitting work, I tell her sure and then list what I expect done around the house--she quickly changes her mind and goes to work

women are always against this stuff, they are afraid and they dont want to see us get in trouble with speeding and the cops.

dude just do what I do. Tune youe car and dont tell her about it, and if she asks where the car is at, just tell he it needs service and maintenance
