2011 Mercedes C63 AMG - INCREDIBLE SOUND!!
Last Thursday I made a video of the 2011 Mercedes C63 AMG Station Wagon used by the F1 Championship as the Medical Car.
I'm really impresseed by the sound of this car but my question is: Is it completely original (exhausts and engine)?
Obviously this is not the first time I saw a C63 on the track but, I'm sure, it wasn't so noisy.
What do you think??

Sounds really sick. Great driving also!
A bit louder than stock for sure. Has a bit more slap also in the downshifts. I would guess the cats have been removed.

My God, that sounds better than any aftermarket exhaust available for our cars, I wish we had that sound, my goodness, I have watched this twice and I am laughing out loud at the sound and the velocity this car is driven.

I have noticed eve with regular c63 estate models they sound more aggressive than the sedan. I presume it's just the rear boot area that changes the acoustics somehow.

Wow, music to my ears.
The downshifts notes are incredible.
Could the new MCT transmission really make that much difference in terms of downshift exhaust note?
EAR ****.

No doubt the wagon might have some exhaust work done too...i'm pretty sure the older medical wagons had headers

If you've ever seen the safety/medical cars at an F1 race, you'll know that it's way way louder than what the vid shows. I swear it's like an open exhaust or something.
As for that bark on downshifts, our cars without MCT does that too if the exhaust is hot, you're on the brakes hard, and you downshift at a lower rpm, somewhere between 3000 and 3500 if I remember right. My car does it at the track, and once in a while on the street. Almost sounds like there's a hole in the muffler.

An open exhausts one sound louder, like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roxR3J1pA4A
And now another question: the owner of this last C63 said us the car has been fitted with an Hamann exhaust system but I've never known that Hamann produces parts for the C63. And you??
P.S. In my opinion the exhaust are "only" decatted and straight, but not sure.
