Probably not even worth it... Would cost too much. Better off selling and getting a new one

The transmission only is about $8K, and there is the software coding that needs to be done as well, so that your car and the tranny talks to one another. Your looking at some serious cash.

For a DCT maybe... MCT no way.

Why not.. both are electronically controlled. The only major connection between the engine and the gearbox is the shaft that transfers power from teh engine to the gearbox. All shifting is controlled by the management computers.

Therefore, given enough time and money, as well as the correct code, it is possible.

Would it cost as much as a new car.. probably not.. would it cost $10k to $20k.. probably. But it is definitely doable.

Personally, if I was going to go through all that trouble and expense.. I would pay someone to put a proper 6 speed manual with a third pedal that actually does something in the car

Well, how much do you think a AMG transmission cost?

The last time, that I talked to my friend Jack, who is a Master AMG Tech, I asked him, if the throttle blipping feature could be added to my E63, he said no, as my C63 and E63 transmission are slightly different. He also told me that my tranny in my E63 was $7K, and the one in my C63 was just a little higher, due to the throttle blipping feature on downshifts. So I'm speculating that the MCT would be at least $8K. As far as a DCT, AMG may have this in development, as it's not in any production car as yet.

The DCT is a MUCH better tranny and shifts much quicker. That comes at a cost of course but if I was going to lay out 8-10K for a tranny it would be for the DCT not the MCT.

It will cost way too much so wouldn't recommend it, you can see this video to learn more about the MCT:

Tell me about it I'm off my game this week I forgot all about the SLS having the DCT. It's the only AMG that has it, for right now.
