Ordered C63 Black Series
Hello all, new member here.
Just got my build slot confirmed for the 63 Black, should be January!
Price and options not out yet in the UK but due soon. Mine will be in black, 4 seat, track pack but not too keen on the aero.
Will keep you posted!

Actually, its an option to put them back in. Taking away the back seat is free, have to pay to get it back
And its good thing the OP doesn't like the Aero, cause it exceeds the rear axle weight limit when coupled with the back seat and you can't order both together.

Agreed. 4 seats has real utility for me, just as well that the aero looks awful, like its fallen off a 997.2 GT3RS

MERCEDES 2011 CL63 AMG / FERRARI F430 / FERRARI 348TS
But, before thinking of buying one, I really want to know first, how it drives !
btw, In the afternoon, I have driven 7 brand new AMG models, (G55, CL63, CL65 PP, CLS63 PP, C63 coupe PP, SLS PP, E63 break .... NOT one of these cars impressed me, sad, but true !!

Didn't reply because obvious trolling is obvious.
Why else would you come to the AMG boards and say you went to the Frankfurt auto show, say the Wing mostly everyone things is over the top is fine. Then mention you drove almost every current AMG model the same afternoon, saying they are unimpressive? Especially since there aren't any Performance Packages for the SLS or CL65.

The SLS and the CL65 did had a special package, from the outside it was obvious by the (gold)color of the brakes. The CL63 did not had that package, and there was a huge diff, after 120km driving it ,sporty on country roads (and the german highway), NO brakes anymore ...
and again, about the BS, if you see the car in the flesh, the rear wing looks alot nicer, even the whole car looks nicer in the flesh. And believe me, I did not liked it before, I even hated it !

Don't misunderstand me here, the cars ARE impressive, but they did not impress me to buy one of these models. The car that I (and most of the other 11 drivers, alot of them SLS GT3 race drivers) found the best, was to my total surprise the CLS63. But I don't like the looks (and the sound) of it ... Afterwards they gave us a question file, and the CLS was 7 times out of 12, the best car. 5 voted for the SLS as DD.

The gold calipers just indicate the ceramic brake option (think it's $12k in the US). Which aren't recommended unless you'll be tracking the car a lot because the stopping distance is actually longer during normal driving for the ceramic brakes vs. the standard steel. The ceramic brakes need heat in them to see the benefit. Again most reviews of a SLS on a track said that even without the ceramic brake options, they could never work the steel brakes enough to notice any fade.

Mercedes C63 amg, Bmw X5,
And isnt it true that these new ceramic brakes dont need to be heated to work properly. I heard that with the new ceramic brakes you can brake as soon as you start the car and that you dont need to heat them up

Depends on what generation ceramic brakes they are and who made them. Magazines have done comparisons of cold steel brakes vs ceramic on the same car and under normal driving conditions the stopping distance of the steel brakes were shorter on most models. I actually think they found the SLS' steel brakes stopped shorter under non-track conditions and about the same until you were absolutely cooking the rotors. The second-gen ceramic brakes on the 458 and the 599 GTO seem to be an exception where they are better, even cold. I stand by my opinion that ceramic brakes up to this point have been a marketing exercise to increase the price of cars that will probably never take advantage of them. But to each his own.

Where exactly is this test of cold brakes.
The reason that ceramics are better for the track is that they tolerate heat better and they are much lighter thus reducing unsprung weight at the axle. The actual difference in stopping power is minimal at best.
