I raced a 2006 Viper Coupe this morning. Turned left at a light with him in front and we split into two lanes – me on left him on right. I was with his bumper the entire time with him looking in his side mirror. We ran to about 110 or so, he thought he was going to walk away. It was awesome because I had the perfect angle to watch a Viper doing full throttle – back end squirrelly at first (mine too!) then rear squat as it hooked up then un-squat/squat as he shifted with a black puff coming out of his side pipe during the shifts. Beautiful dark blue with white stripes.

Gave each other the thumbs up and we stopped at the next light and had a chat. He was surprised I kept up with him – me too! he didn't want to go again.

He should have spanked you, 500lbs less weight and you have 50 less hp stock.

If you are tuned with LT headers it would be very close.

He is talking about 2006 viper. You will not get spanked if you are tuned. Actually, from a dig, he will need to have an excellent start and not spin otherwise he will see our tail pipes all the way to top speed (I did the mile run and many vipers had lower times and top speed).
Not obviously the newer ones are a bit different story but it is still a driver's race because there is no traction control on the snake.
Awesome looking car though I love the GTS coupe (blue with white lines).
It attracts way too much attention (some good, some bad if you know what I mean lol)

Ya a 2006 Viper has 500HP. Our cars tuned about the same.

Viper is 500lbs less.

How does traction control help you in a drag race haha.

I have a hard time believing a tuned C63 will keep up to a stock Viper. It just so happens that my partner has purchased an 05 Viper a few days ago, we will put this theory to the test when it arrives in 2 weeks.

see this you tube video a friend sent me coincidentally of a C63 against a Viper GTS blue with white stripes. as the op, i raced the Viper for about 10-11 seconds. if we would have gone another 2 seconds, you can see on the video he would have started to pull away (but then didn't).
