new 2012 c63...feedback please!

hello everyone, i am new to the forum as you guys can see, and would just like to welcome myself as a very proud new 2012 c63 owner..i have been dreaming to own this car for around a year and a half, and when i saw the 2012 at the NY auto show, i went the same week and preordered it..about 3 weeks ago , i finally picked her up. i must say, she is gorgeous and i am obsessed with the car. it really is a dream come true, drives great as well..due to the fact that i am a new AMG owner (first one) and i am new to the forum, i have some questions..please excuse if they have been asked before, dont wanna bust ***** ! :P

1- is it necessary to follow the break in method on the sticker? i have been following it exact so far, i have about 620 miles on the car and have never went above 85 mph, or 4,500 RPMS..i get scared sometimes after hearing mixed emotions about the 63 engine, any comfort would be appreciated lol

2- when i start the car, what should the necessary oil temp be before i can start driving it? i understand that to drive it hard, it has to be 176 degrees fahrenheit.. i never really plan on beating it because i treat it as if its my first born child (lol) , but its nice to feel whats under the hood..

3- overall, i hope i made a good choice! i hope the new 2012's dont have issues as the 2008 did when it first came out...

thanks for listening guys/gals! look forward to hearing your responces.

1. I followed the break in method. It is more to ensure proper seating in and operation of the transmission than the engine. If you are going to race the car this method may not be what is preferred but for a street car I think it is the preferred method.

2. I never warm an engine at an idle. I always wait just a few seconds before driving. This brings the engine, transmission and drive gear up to operating temperature faster and in unison, wastes less fuel and helps reduce emissions.

3. I think you made a great choice. Enjoy!

1. Absolutely. Just be patient and enjoy it to the fullest when the break in period is over

2. Define driving it. You shouldn't red-line it before it reaches 80 degrees (176) in your case apparently.

3. So far i'm at least loving mine, and hope you feel the same way about yours

thanks for the reply Jycke!, what I meant was let's say I put it in the garage for the night and then start it the next day, it's okay to just drive off right away? or do I need to wait till a certain temperature?

I absolutely love the car, and I am so glad I joined the mb/AMG fam. feels really good to get home and have my baby sitting in the garage waiting for me! lol

i drive mine right away most days. i just stay out of manual mode until its out on the interstate and fully warm. sometimes it idles in the driveway when i forget something and i have to go back in the house. but i have never noticed any issues. id say in the colder months it wouldnt hurt to let her warm up a bit...

Just drive it right away :P I usually just wait so long for the RPM's to sink before i drive...some 20 seconds or something. Don't know if it does any good since they go down as soon as i put in a gear...but still.
