Friendly challege from the BMWs in San Antonio

Sorry typo-- (Challenge )
I have been invited to run some modded 335I s and maybe some M s wednesday night a San Antonio raceway. I have made quite a few (100+) runs at this track but not in this car. I am hoping to break into the 11s.
I just had my eurocharged tune upgraded to the V3 version and it really feels strong with a very smooth pull to redline.
If any other MBs want to come for support and to run I will be there at 7:00 to make some hot laps and get the feel of the track with this car. I know the 335s can be very fast with mods so should be a fun night!
I will report the results.

Haven't been to Biff's. I have been at the Coffee & Rides event a few times.

Just got back from the track. Only made four runs then the track got too crowded. Best trap speed --117.86 best E.T.-- 12.41 60ft times sucked best was 1.98. best overall run 12.41 @ 117.65.

Didn't break the 11.s as hoped for but I was pleased with the MPH. Without some sitcker tires and lower 60fts 11s will be hard to do, but possible. Had fun and did beat the guy in the 335i that made the challenge. Nice group of BMW guys there --- no Mercs.

^^^ Awesome my friend... I go to San Antonio 2-3 times a year and I will be going there within the next 2-3 months, i will send you a PM and we can run the cars at SAR. As far is your times, almost 118mph with just a tune is a win -win situation.

Your 60' times could be dropped down realistically to 1.8 sec(from 2.0) and that will get you 4 tenths on your ET. Typically one tenth on the 60' will drop two tenths on the ET.

Just curious. What did the guy with the 335I ran?, I am former 335i owner.

Sounds like a plan!

Yea, I am sure I could get 1.8s or better with some DRs. I used to hit 1.7s at the same track with a 350hp Trans am w/DRs.
The 335i was running high 12s & 13s around 110. He had a tune (up the boost), intake, exhaust, and a few other items.

1. Stock tires 45lbs front 35 back
2.Quick ,short burn out to clean the tires trans in M1 ,TC off
3. Launched at 1000RPM, trans D1 Sport, TC off
Put the trans in sport, Hit the left paddle once, D1 will appear. The trans will upshift a redline in ever gear. Worked great.

Good luck -- have fun. Don't worry about your first time, everyone gets faster with time. It's like the first time having sex--- but in reverse!

nice meeting you jim

I ended up with a 12.9 at 114 for the best time of the night, wasn't great but leaves room to improve for next time.

calvin with the white 335i ran a 12.1 at 120 for his best run.

did you have to feather the throttle during any of your runs? or did you just punch it from 1000

Pretty much floored it and in took up well the early 4 runs. I tried again after the crowds arrived and tore up the track prep. I got some bad wheel hop and backed off. I was done for the night after that. I have learn to be there when they open make your runs early then become a spectator.
Speaking of that there was a group of 5.0 mustangs there and DAMN they are fast!!! Several ran high 11.s over 120 mph & did not seem to have a lot of mods.

Nice to meet you to Marc. Stop by my office some day around 11:30, I will take you to lunch.
Sounds like Calvin would have been the winner---- with DRs.
