Question You Stopped Ticking/Clicking & Now You Are Whining! What's wrong C63?!?

So most of you know I take great care of my car, service it exactly on time, wash it every 2 weeks, detail it every month, and have put 11,200 miles in the last 3.5 years.

However, today I went to start up the Garage Queen and it wouldn't start. So I gave the battery some juice and she finally did. I left it on to warm, and went on about my business. As soon as I got on the main road, I noticed a weird sound, this time it wasn't ticking or clicking (which comes and goes and I'm told is a Mercedes thing?!?), yet it was a whistling noise from the engine. Very light yet noticeable the more throttle pressure you apply.

Then I turned on the CD player, and it started to skip the CDs in the middle of the song. So I thought, bad CD. Took it out and noticed nothing wrong with the CD (I always give my car benefit of the doubt ). So I put it back in and it was fine till a couple hours later when the same thing happened on another CD and it just froze on a song.

Anyway what I'm realizing is that the closer the car gets to the end of it's warranty, the more issues it's having. Nothing major yet, thank God, but little things here and there that just bother the hell out of me.

Anyone experience anything similar?

I don't understand why people keep these things in the garage and dont drive them, these cars are meant to be driven. I also noticed cars that have been sitting in the garage for a while and don't get driven often have weird/odd problems or noises, could be coincidence?

How many miles do you have?

I have a DD i use for work (11 e350) and keep the C in the garage most of the time, I drive it when I go out at night, and for cruises on Sunday, I find it to be more enjoyable when I don't drive it so often

Low battery voltage, whining sounds with engine revs, electronics iffy, sounds like alternator making the whine, and showing up bad from other issues. Grab a volt meter and see what she has at idle, and with revs, should be 13.8 to 14.4, much less or a lot less and sounds like alternator problem. Good luck!

.
Could it be that manifold gasket/loosening of the bolts that some people have been talking about lately?

Totally understandable.
Personally if I don't drive the car for 3 days or more I start getting feelings of neglect.
Every time I get behind the wheel of this thing I am happy.

Thanks for the tip, thought of that as well. I will check in the morning and report back.

I'm going to take it into the dealer as soon as my schedule permits. Let's see what B.S. they try to tell me this time (i.e. engine eats oil, it's normal on these cars ).

I find the more, I drive my cars the less issues I have with them.
I have 40K on my 07 E63, and 15K on my 10 C63.
Could this be a coincidence, I don't think so.
Just drive your car more, then the little squeaks and noises won't be so noticeable.

Does anyone with a US model have this option or is this just a ROW feature? I've looked all over my dashboard menus and I don't see a battery voltage reading anywhere....

For my US version, just pull it up in the Parktronic display:

Well, that super heavy feature; the Parktronic System, was taken out on the CLK Black, so had to put the display back in at least !

I posted a thread several months ago with a video clip of the sound; it turned out to be the Upper Guide pulley causing the whine.

Think there is a bulletin that covers pulleys that whine, not that all will have it, but if they do.

Mine is at 4781 miles. Need to drive it more to get any warranty kinks out of the way before time runs out.

The two of you are like when my little brother and I were kids, he would eat all the crust from around the toppings of the pizza first or all the mash potatos and yucky veggies first and then save all the toppings or steak for last and by the time he got there he was exhausted and full so I would take over and scarf it down.

Drive now b17ches or someone else will end up taking the virginity of your cars when you get limp sausage and sell it...

Wow I cant believe some of you guys.
It's only a C63 not a SLR, Ferrari F458 or Lamborghini LP670!!
I'm sorry to say but some of you are treating this car like a little b*tch.

Its funny becuase some guys spend all this money on mods, Tune, LTH's, etc....and never enjoy it. Drive the f***ing car!
