Carbonio air filters review and pictures
I received my carbonio air filters today and they are installed . The first impressions are great, no sticky material like others reported it, the materials seem to be of high quality. I lived in the UK before and these filters sell very well, carbonio sells them but I think that Pipercross makes them. I got them quick considering that they came from Ontario Canada and I live in AZ.
Fitment is great, again, I don't know who bashed these filters in the past talking about "pinching" the rubber and what not, they fit well inside the air boxes..... The filters clearly look to me like a multistage air filtration (3 stages to be exacts), what I mean with this is that there are 3 layers of diferent cushing filtration material each one has different thickness with diferent porous surfaces.
Paid $170 shipped (two air filters)to my door. I previously had K&N filters which cost me $104 from Autozone (special order), stock filters cost $39.
As per the performance, it is really hard to tell because I have MHP tune already and that puts the power into the low 500hp so a pair of filters might account or a fraction of the power(maybe 1%) which is really not noticeable. Once I post some pictures it will make some justice.

Very nice. I have heard nothing but good things from buddies that have used this system. I don't have any hard numbers or tests to show any gains, but they feel great at low gears pulling. Post up some pics and a review whenever you can...

I am running the same filters on my SL63. the one that you have is the old pippercross filters. I have the new ones. where the bottom layer of the filter is actually reduced allowign more air flow. Pippercross is the best filter for the AMG 63 engine. I tried them all. BMC, K&N, AFE. Pippercross outpreforms all of them
Can you post some pictures of your air filters?. I am not trying to contradict you at all but how come I have the "old version " filters if I just ordered them last week directly from Carbonio?
I don't want to get screwed with old filters, if I need it I can send them back and request the new version but to be honest they look very good.
