My C63 Performance figures
I just recieved my Performance Box so I decided to go out for a few test runs over the weekend. I did a few 80-120kmh runs and the best was 2.7 with consistent 2.8's. I could only do 2 of the 0-100km runs and the best i could manage was 5.0sec flat which was pretty dissapointing but i had too much wheelspin to get a decent time. I obviously need to practice launching. I had it in manual mode / sport. I've got a custom tune with 428whp. Has anyone else done similar tests so i can compare? Also, any advice on getting this thing off the line better?

I have a G-tech Pro but I never tested my C63 however I have done about 20 drag strip passes while the car was stock(3 trips to the drag strip and about 20 passes total combined).
2.8 sec 80-120km is very good. I am guessing you live in Australia? the 0-100km of 5 sec flat is a hair slower that what it suposse to be.

Yes i live in Australia. Stock they're supposed to do 4.8sec 0-100km and mine's tuned so i was expecting a fair bit better but as i mentioned, it's really hard getting the power to the ground without wheelspin. That's why i want to compare the acceleration times of 80-120km to get a true indication of how much difference the tune made.

FWIW this past weekend I tried using the pocket dyno app on my iphone at the drag strip. I made several passes with my fastest 0-60(MPH) being 3.93 and slowest being 4.17. FYI my car is also tuned.
Now I would have doubted these figures had my 60', 330' and ETs not been within 3 one thousandths of my actual time slips from the track (which i found VERY impressive.) With that said, I hope to hook the car up to a vbox pro very soon to get more reliable data.

80-120kmh runs??
Is this just a number you picked? Thats 50 - 75mph which has a gear change right in the middle of it? Why wouldn't you pick 35-60 or 65 to 90 so there's no gear change? Just askling the question? Those numbers will astound you. LOL
Have fun and enjoy the car!!

Is that 80-120 km/h from a larger sample like 0- (insert number higher than 120), or did you start at 80 km/h?
When I tested 0-200 km/h (tuned Kleemann with supersprint headers) I got 100-200 in 8,87 sec (80-120 in 2,24)

BK63AMG - are your times with DR's? If not what tires are you running and what's your launch technique?
Dads C63 - 80-120kmh is what all the magazines here use for testing in gear acceleration. I kept it in 3rd at around 70kmh and then full accelerator until 120kmh or so. The same test has the Porsche 911 4.0 GTS doing it in 2.8sec also.

I find 0-60 tests to be really difficult given the power of our cars, coupled with the skinny tires in the back.
Not only that, but am I wrong to think the the gearing itself for 1st gear also multiplies the torque big time?
Seems like it's really hard to make clean 0-60 passes. I know it's done all the time, but how many trials and errors does it take to really get that lower 0-60 number.
It's not like you can just go out to your car and step on the gas and record a low 0-60 time. With traction on, TC will kick in and ruin the run. With it off, the tires will spin. Sport may allow you to go through the spin, depending on conditions.
I can see with good pavement or a sticky track and heated up tires, you can get a nice launch and record that good time.
To the OP, I wouldn't be concerned with the 5-second 0-60 time, because if you're spinning upon launch you would certainly record a lower number without the wheelspin.
That said it would be nice to record a nice, low time for fun.
