Just got a c63 coupe
I think I have some sort of disease because I can't seem to help myself when it comes to new c63's. This will be #3 in 3 years, and I swore I wouldn't get another one, but this one is just too sweet to pass up.
2012 c63 coupe designo Marno Night Black (flat black)
19" matte black wheels
P88 package with the P30 performance package.
The dealer just got it yesterday. He brought it to my house tonight to check it out. He's bringing it back to me on Sunday

Gorgeous... the local dealer had the twin to your car in the showroom a few weeks back and it was amazing... a ***** to maintain (paint wise) but beautiful nonetheless.

C63 Coupe Edition 1
Congratulations on the Edition 1! Mine gets built tomorrow. :-D
Swissvax has a line of products called Opaque designed for matte paint and is factory reccomended my Lambo and Rolls Royce for their matte cars. Should help protect and care for these properly, I'm going to pick it up when mine arrives.

CTS-V Coupe
I'm confused, doesn't the performance package give you a steering wheel with suede inserts?? Why do some cars have the steering wheel with the red accents at the bottom, but other similarly equipped cars don't?

I can't take black rims on black paint seriously unless it's a serious car (Ferrari FXX/458, SLR 722, etc). It might be because a certain... *ahem* demographic....abused the look. Otherwise mighty fine vehicle.

I'd hate to derail the subject for fear of being called a troll. But it's the same group that eventually got bored with 29" chrome rims and moved on to putting 16" black rims on their dodge neon's. Or to not use a quasi-racist example....pimply faced teenagers who put black rims on their Scion's.
All of the above have sort of diminished (for me) the aggressive utilitarianism that black rims represent. Since the C63 can be mistaken for a regular C class, the car itself isn't visually focused and aggressive enough to deserve black rims. To me it comes off as a bit "try too hardish". The BS could probably get away with black rims, however.
Just my opinion, though. If the OP wanted to put pink rims on then it's up to him

As far as black on black, sure it may be a bit played out, but the car in person looks really mean. I think it fits the personality of the car nicely. I actually feel as though the color kind of distinguishes it from the regular c-class.

C63 Coupe Edition 1
I agree with you mderka, I haven't seen it in person but Autoblog had a great photo gallery of their test Edition 1 in June and it really stood out over the regular C Class. In my opinion the paint and wheels really accent the AMG modifications and make it more agressive.
Mine should have started rolling down the assembly line today actually!

Don't be a douche bag. If you don't like my post then ignore it. I said clearly it's just my opinion.

I'm with you - I despise black rims and think they look terrible - I just don't get it. To each his own, though. However - the point about who made black rims popular or unpopular or whatever the case is lost on me - I just don't like the look at all - no matter what the car... although I do love the rest of the car!! I would just change the rims.
