C Class (AMG specifically) lifecycle

My C63 arrives in December and I am trying to determine the lease/finance period I will choose. Ultimately, I would upgrade to the next generation C63 coupe when it comes out. I was told the C Class is currently mid cycle and that the refresh should give the car at least another 3 to 4 years before the next generation is released.

Does anyone know what the lifecycle is? If the next gen C AMG comes out 3 years from now, I would finance/lease over 4 years. If it is longer, I might go shorter (3 years) and have two cars over the period between now and the next gen cars.

Thoughts?

AMG
If I'm not mistaken it's 4 years...then again, could be totally wrong but for some reason that stands out in my mind

To be honest most of the pre 2012 C 63 AMG owners are happy with the more agressive old looks. While the newer 2012 C63 model comes with nice upgrades I still believe that many of us are happy with the older style(2008-2011) looks. Either way I think if you get a C63 in December you will be happy.

I love the M3 that is true. In a nutshell, I have a close relationship with the owners of the Merc dealership where I live and decided I should be driving one of their cars versus their largest competitor

Does anyone have a sense of the C Class lifecycle and when the next generation of cars (AMG) might be released?

That is consistent with what I hear elsewhere too. I might go with a 4 year finance/lease which would take me into December 2015 and upgrade them to the next generation.

Surprisingly, it seems that there is no clear cut timetable on MB C AMG life cycle. Maybe people here don't really follow it that closely compared to BMW forums. In BMW forums, there are already spy shots on the upcoming F80's M3. The current E90's started in MY 2008 until 2012 and will stop production for a year to retool their plant. The new M3 series will be out on 2014. Basing it from current C AMG (W204), it is possible that they will have the same MY release.

Funny you say this. The size of the enthusiast community for the C63 AMG is miniscule compared to the M3. On M3Post, there would be easily 10+ PAGES of new posts a day. Ask a question, any question, and someone will know something. Here you might get 30 - 40 total posts a day. Hopefully, with the introduction of the C63 coupe and the different type of buyer it will attract, more and more enthusiasts will come here and the community will grow. This also has the benefit of better after market vendor support when sales volumes are higher!

Having said that, I do also notice that the smaller group of folks here are a great bunch of people and it seems like there are fewer issues with childish behaviour (the my e-peen is bigger than your e-peen pissing contests that you see at M3Post). Lots of good people on both forums but less conflict, seemingly, here

Glad you decided to switch over, I'm coming from a BMW too. Luckily for me the Z4 forums users were a bit more mature than the M3 stereotype but I totally know what you mean. There are some really knowledgeable and helpful people on here so I'm sure what it lacks in quantity it makes up for in quality.

This is my first MB too and from what I can see in the ordering process for the new Coupe, MB isn't nearly as organized as their german counterparts. It wouldn't surprise me if there wasn't a set schedule for when the next generation C-Class, maybe just a rough timeperiod.

Yup you maybe right. But one observation I noticed is the amount of publications BMW has against MBZ. I went to B&N to buy some mags about MBZ and to my surprise, there was only one. Compared that to the Bimmer mags that are at least 4. Does it shows that their are more Bimmer enthusiast than BMZ?

Maybe MBZ drivers prefer to enjoy to drive around rather than read and hang in the internet.

I would say the W205 C class will be out in 2 or 3 years, there have been spy and computerized pics the last several months in Germany of the new C class and what I have seen so far I am not impressed.
