I read elsewhere there are possible problems with the cams.
There was a thread here at some point but it's now gone.
I'm not trying to cause a stir but if there is any concern we should find out more definitively as part of the enthusiast community here.

If the thread that you read which is now deleted was Jeffield's, he didn't provide a reason for the engine failure and I don't believe was told what the issue was. The thread was removed at his request for personal and smart reasons .

No , there was another referring to a lawsuit, you know the one.
I would sure like to know how many engines failed, if any besideds the folks that may have tuned or modified. I'm not concerned with those necessarily unless they are a leading indicator.

Saying that the cam wears out is very absurd and very unlike. There are just less than hal dozen people with C63 with more than 60-70,000 miles. I find one trillion chances to have the cams wear out so early. You can have the biggest POS cars made in this planet, cars with one million miles and not have cams worn out.
I AMG actually put soft materials on the cam then you can say that they are the biffest underengineer on the planet. Cams don't wear out enough to cause any issues.

Scoring on the camshaft lobes allegedly can lead to premature wear on the lifters, leaving a "gouged ring in the top of the valve lifter. The gouged ring wear on the [lifters] also indicates the [lifters] are not spinning as intended by design."
The complaint provides that this issue can be caused by "soft camshaft metal and/or improper heat treating and/or improper camshaft offset."
So, both the camshaft and lifters are claimed to be affected.

People, lets just wait until the outcome of the lawsuit, before we jump to judgement. There have been many threads written about this issue already. We are all just speculating at this point. I've been on this forum, and have heard very very few cases of engine failure in a AMG. I think this thread is just stirring the pot again.

SonnyakaPig,
I wasn't directing my reply at you. I was just speaking in general. Sorry for the confusion.
