New Front and Rear HD Sway Bars available soon.

I am having new Heavy Duty front and rear sway bars made for road racing. The stock bars are 27mm and they recommend 35mm. I am sending them my stock bars and they will replicate them. All I have to do is make rubber bushings for street use and delrin bushings for track use. I believe we may make them adjustable if we need to. Let me know if you are interested. I believe they are going to be abouit $1000 each with the hardware etc...

They will be available through a local speed shop that does a lot of work for HHughes and myself so I will put you in touch with them directly.

Looks like u up to something fun again.
Teach me something here I'm not up to date on suspention mods and what they do.
What would this do by going up 8mm. What's it going to improve besides it being thicker and stronger.

Hagi,
It won't help you drag racing. In fact, it may hurt.
Your car has sway bars to stop the body sway back and forth you will get running through sharp turns or "S" turns. The stiffer sway bars will help eliminate that sway so the body will more closely follow the track of the wheel(s). You have to be careful not to get too stiff because then you will lose the feel of the car and it will "drift" easier and also put more dependence on the tires at that point. I'm not sure I haven't muddied the waters but I wanted to try to explain. Good for road racing, not so much for drag racing. That may be why we make them adjustable.

You'll want to make them adjustable. ON BOTH ENDS OF BOTH BARS so you can dial in the correct amount of understeer. 3 holes does not = 3 positions. It equals 6. By adjusting only one end of the bar you effectively add 3 half positions in between.

Hey Jim,

Did you already have some made? If so, I can contact them and not have to start from scratch.

Your car is turning out incredibly well!! CONGRATS!!!!

Nah, didn't get to it yet. So go for it. I was just pointing out to make sure to get adjustment holes in both bars at both ends for us road course guys.

You might want to look at supplying beefier end links too. Stiffer bars tend to rip them up.

Just one word of caution about a larger rear bar. Anytime you increase the rear bar, you have a tendency to raise a rear tire off the ground when cornering hard, aka the inside tire. The only reason I am posting this is that you might want to consider a POSI for your rear end BEFORE installing a larger rear bar, IF you are going to road race her. FYI.

I'll see if I can find my old stang pictures where I lifted the inside rear coming out of 13 at Nelson Ledges.

PS: For drag racing, just disconnect the front end links and let her rip, as a bigger front bar tends to reduce weight transfer. That is a really old trick from us corner carvers. Don't worry about the rear as it won't affect a thing in draggin

By the way, GREAT job Dad!!

Hey guys,
The factory has informed me that it will be after Christmas before they can make them. Sorry for the delay but I'll let you know as soon as they are getting close to being done.

Tnx Keith but I'm not looking for them for drag racing,
I'll looking into doing some road racing next year just trying to find a group to go with at lime rock.
That's why I was asking I'm going to need to do some suspention work and besides KW's I wanted to know what else does a big deal at the track.

I drive what I drive
The sway bars might be somewhat heavier than your stock bars, beware drag racers trying to save weight..
