2012 C63 Intake Inconsistencies.....
Calling all 2012 C63 owners... Coupes, sedans and wagons....

I was looking at pictures online of other 2012 C63s and noticed that most don't have this extra "bump" in the middle separating the airbox funnel inlets

Here's a picture of mine.... Do you guys have it too?





I think the "bump" is used to separate the intake tracts to improve/force/smoothen airflow.

2008 C63 ,2009 SL 63 AMG, 2011 SLS AMG
I think its due to Your car being a US spec C63. The photo below is from a Euro spec C63. I dont think it matters much though

That's what I thought till I saw other Canadian and American member's 2012 C63s... they don't have the bump....

Also a customer came into my shop a few weeks ago with his white 2012 C63 and he didn't have it either.

The pending C63 BS Coupé does not have this hump either>>>
At least in the early demo cars..

hmm, I don't have that bump on mine either...

This picture doesnt show the full intake, but you can at least see at the very bottom there is not a piece like you have on your car.

Good eye! Looks like the bump does help channel air to the intakes a little.

US Spec... don't have it. Probably a Canada Spec thing. But what is the purpose?

I've so far had 2 2012 C63s at my place of business... and they did not have it....
