which wheels...part 2??
since recently deciding to use my OEM wheels for winter, i have turned my attention to buying a new set of summer shoes. Over the last few days i have checked a few magazines, looked at literally hundreds of pics online, and used both online car configurators as well as Photoshop to mock up what different wheels might look like on my car.
I have narrowed it down to 3...granted 3 very different options.
First, Lorinser RSK6..I love these!!!! When i think "AMG" their Aero wheels immediately pop to mind...these Lorinser remind me of those and bring back memories to the early days of AMG.
Next up, ADV1 5.1. The funny thing is that i absolutely ruled out 5 spokes when i started my search...but then i came across some pics of a silver C63 with these black ADVs on their website and thought d@mn that looks good! I have since revisited 5 spokes, looking at Vossen, Forgiato etc. but these remain my favourite.
Finally a multi-spoke. I have always liked multi-spokes like BBS (especially the CH-R)..there are TONS of options out there and again i looked at HRE, Vossen, Rennen, BBS, etc..and this one by Forgiato came out on top of my list.
i have already looked into pricing on the first two..clearly these are not cheap lol! so i really need to be sure before choosing. what do you all think?
one last look including the OEMs.
thanks!

I don't think you'll like my response....but of the choices you've mentioned, I like the OEM's best. I'm getting wheels soon as well, and have wondered if anyone will like my choices also. After reading so many posts, it truly is yours only to make. But if you are going to spend some serious money, go with a reputable brand for sure. There are a lot of negative experiences out there, and the same names keep coming up. Check them out thoroughly!
Good luck and post pics when you get them installed!

lol thanks..i like the OEMs too..
yes, i got a lot of ideas from this forum, particularly the wheel sticky at the top of the forum..i see that HRE gets a lot of mentions..and i did consider those too..
it is tough without seeing them in person...of course it would be ideal to see them on my car (not feasible, i know) but at least on a C63...as if most often the case, they may look great in the store but not so great on your car

Again why waste money on mounting winter tires on your OEM wheels, when the rims are different sizes. I understand you could probably get away with 235's all around but to rotate them you are always having to remount them. Not to mention how the wide rim will stretch the tire over time, and it may not run as nice when you rotate. You have great stock rims which look the best! (maybe only black series rims would look a bit better) Keep those for summer. If you're so keen on new rims, sell the OEM rims... Id even place an offer on them!
Im only after you because you seem to be keen on your opinions which just aren't practical IMO. Do what you want, Im just giving you honest opinions and trying to provide you some intelligence.

In order, HRE, forgiato & ADV... but never the Lorinser (ugly).
But in my honest opinion, you should not used the OEM 19's for winter... they are too beautiful & expensive to be winter rims.

Search avengerboater and obsidian's cars. Their setups are spot on. If you put the lorinser rims please drive the car to the nearest cliff and don't forget to jump of the car.

that's exactly my point! i have liked AMGs since back then...and since i could not afford a "Hammer" back then...hmmmm...i still like the "monochrome" look of that era as well (like red car, red grille, red wheels etc.)...ahhh those were the days. you young'uns will understand when you get to my age.
