I have searched high and low for this, and posted in the wheels and brakes forum to no avail.

What thickness are pads for the non-performance model when new, and what is dealer spec for swapping them out?

There is a light that comes on when they are too low. The dealer was suggesting to replace mine when it was at 30%. I still got another 10000km out of them till I replaced them and still the light wasn't on, but it was very close to making the connection.

I bought some RS4 pads. Kept my rotors on and switched pads. The stock pads were noisy. I did nothing to the rotors, just threw on these new Porterfield RS4 pads and it was fine. No noise and it stops just the same if not better. My rotors were not warped though and no pulsing was felt in the pedal prior to swapping pads.

It cost me 450 bucks to do this compared to almost 4k at the dealer for all new rotors pads, labor, etc.

Pads can be purchased at formymercedes.com the guys name is Jerry. Really helpful and easy to deal with.

The rotors are good for 3mm of wear, at 45000km I had only used 1mm. So still 2mm of material there to work with.

If you want W204 brake specs similar to these, you'll have to check a very modern copy of the WIS.

Merc63 -Why is that sig not nice? I thought it was awesome that your mom a) has a 69 Firebird with 550 hp and b) that she knows how to drive the hell out of it. I hope my daughter grows up like that.

I told you at the time that was the post of the year for me. If you are somehow offended I'll take it down but I think its pretty damn cool.

If you need new brakes just get the pads I have an throw them on. Save yourself enough to take a nice trip somewhere.
