C63s now in the garage. Sold-GLA45 AMG Edition 1, Sold-2010 Mercedes C63
I'm pretty sore this morning when I woke up. Off to the doc to get checked out. That was a crazy impact. happened so fast. No airbags either?? The transmission made the worst sound I've ever heard. Thank you crumple zones for allowing me to walk away from this (as a passenger)

No airbag deployment. Not sure how or why. We also got rear ended in a chain reaction accident in a tunnel. We were stopping in time when the guy behind us plowed in and pushed us ahead. Pretty frightening when you consider the options so I was glad to get home and kiss my babies.
I frigging loved that car tho. And I guess it loved me back cos it sure sacrificed itself to keep LFM and I safe. And LFM is right - the noises coming out of that car as we limped out of the tunnel were ungodly. I felt guilty driving it with the grinding and the smoke and the fluid but we had to limp out of there before we got hit again. Crappy day.

Glad you're ok.
Thats something I'm always scared of. The AMG brakes exceptionally well on the highway in these incidents, but I'm always afraid of the person behind me because a) they don't brake in time, or b) they can't brake as aggressively as me and end up rear ending me.

simply refuse to get over into the slow lane and are sometimes literally going less then 65, which is the posted speed limit, and we also don't have a minimum speed limit, which makes what the bozo's in fast lane are doing technically legal......it's a mess! and if the highway happens to be going UPHILL?? oh geez, we're ALL in trouble because there will be a least two dozen people tandemed in the fast lane going slow because they don't want to 'give it any gas'.....
the problems and issues with bad driving is seriously way beyond me.....what people are doing besides driving is completely irrelevant.....
JUST DRIVE you know?
this isn't pointed at you, I just quoted the last thing I saw, and then started ranting...LOL

604C63,
Your car looks a lot worse than my first C63 after I was involved in a head on collision. The initial assessment from the insurance for my car was about $10,000, what a joke. However, when they started to dig deeper, the car ended up being a total loss. Based on my experience, There is No way that your car isn't totaled. Interesting thing to note, is I had no airbag deployment in my car as well. The body shop and insurances surveyors said that the impact from at the truck that collided with me was higher. Than the airbag sensor and likely didn't deploy the bag. The impact in my collision did not feel all that strong, as both of us in the accident were slamming on the brakes and had slowed to speeds of about 10mph or so when we collided. thank God. I do feel that the airbag should have went off in my collision combined with your experience, which makes me kind of suspect in regards to these airbags from Mercedes. Oh well, thank God you weren't seriously hurt.
