That's only 2 seconds off a zonda s.....Germany's sport auto did it...go to www.motorauthority.com to get the info.......very fast car.

It beat the M3 GTS which timed out at 7:48 (all new versions being tried that day .....not old numbers)
Lost to the Carerra S at 7:44
and basically made the CTSV it's prison beotch. That old video that had everyone whacking yet put the CTSV through at 7:59
So proud of Benz and it's handling improvement.

Obviously the car is much more capable of a better lap time. Horst Van took the Ferrari 458 Italia around the ring, but so did Autobild Magazine with their German driver Sascha Bert (very reputable) and he posted a 6 second better lap time which is a lot of time. I know it's a lot quicker so hopefully there will be many more tests.

that was a GM conducted test. Good luck ever getting close to those numbers.
and like I said before it's the driver as well. Autobild posted a time with the Ferrari 458 six seconds quicker than what Horst Van posted. Horst van conducted the C63 Black Series test. 7:46 is very fast, but someone will post a much quicker time.

That is very impressive time considering the jump over what the development package C63 achieved.
Incidentally, does anyone know when is the official release date for the US? There seem to be rumors circulating for anywhere between January and June.

First builds are in January for North America, so Feb-March deliveries at the earliest, from what I've heard. I can say 2nd week of Jan build date for me, expected March delivery, I'm in Vancouver.

Besides, why do you think a viper needs rebuilding after a year? Also, in the end, all that matters is who came first :-)

You can blame Dr. Deiter for that. MB tanked Crysler and now FIAT is bringing that back. Pretty sad in my books because I thought it would have been a great merger. But then again, the early 2000's sucked for MB too under Dr. D.
